In this episode, we begin to walk verse by verse through John chapter 6 and demonstrate exegetically how this chapter teaches the "calvinistic" understanding of the application of salvation...that the reason why people come to true faith in Christ is because they were first given by the Father to the Son.

In this episode we continue to work through "The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination" by Loraine Boettner. We start working through chapter 10, which is entitled Total Inability.

In this episode, I am preparing for a upcoming live stream where Derek Murrell and I will be discussing the "I" in the PROVIDE acrostic. I play some of Dr. Flowers videos where he explains the role of the Holy Spirit in salvation and how he talks about the means being sufficient in and of themselves to bring about the result God wants. I try to understand his position, looks at the definition of sufficient vs necessary causation, and look at the historical debate in the protestant reformation between grace being sufficient vs. necessary.

In this episode I begin with Dr. James White and his challenge to Dr. Flowers in their Romans 9 debate cross examination. Dr. White asked Dr. Flowers if the method of exegesis he employs to defend provisionism is the same that he would use in defending the Trinity, Deity of Christ, etc... I then show how provisionists use the same tactics of biblical interpretation and hermeneutics to defend their positions as do the unitarians and oneness pentecostals. I play several clips from each and then play a clip from the provisionist perspective podcast and soteriology 101.

In this episode I review an answer Dr. Leighton Flowers give to the question of if Calvinists are truly saved Christians. We have 100% agreement on this issue for sure!

In light of recent events at the U.S. Capital building, the 2020 election, Trumpism, etc... I thought it prudent to begin a series that I have been meaning to start for a few months, namely political theology. We read through the first chapter of a book by Dr. David Van Drunen called "Politics After Christendom: Political Theology for a Fractured World". We go over how government is both legitimate but provisional and common but accountable.
