Apologetics from the Attic

In this episode I review an answer Dr. Leighton Flowers give to the question of if Calvinists are truly saved Christians. We have 100% agreement on this issue for sure!

In this episode, I give my commentary on the unfolding response to the Capitol riots, if Trump should be removed from office, if he is responsible in any sense for the incident at the Capitol, censorship by social media and we continue our study of Political Theology.

In this episode, I begin by going over the continued developments surrounding the incident in the U.S. Capitol, the move of Twitter and other social media to ban accounts and other related issues. Then we continue our study of Dr. VanDrunen's book, "Politics After Christendom".

In light of recent events at the U.S. Capital building, the 2020 election, Trumpism, etc... I thought it prudent to begin a series that I have been meaning to start for a few months, namely political theology. We read through the first chapter of a book by Dr. David Van Drunen called "Politics After Christendom: Political Theology for a Fractured World". We go over how government is both legitimate but provisional and common but accountable.

My recommendations for commentary on the recent events:
-Albert Mohler: https://albertmohler.com/2021/01/07/briefing-1-7-21
-James White: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Devdxup8Ibg
-Ben Shapiro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8ZfmyxmgTA

In this episode, we start with a twitter discussion I found right before I recorded this between Dr. James White and Seth Dillon (from Babylon Bee fame) where they are discussing issues of the sovereignty of God and the will of man. Dr. White ends up asking Seth if he holds that God has perfect foreknowledge of all future events, and this is where I segway into this chapter of Boettner's book on this very issue.

In this episode, we read and study Chapter 3 in Loraine Boettner's book "The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination. This chapter is entitled "God has a Plan". In it he argues that God must have a plan for the both the goals and the accomplishing of those goals in the universe He creates. This is a foundational conviction of reformed theology and calvinism.

In this episode we go over Beth Moore's recent tweet about the dangers of Trumpism. Then we read an article by David French on the same topic. Then we finish up with an article by Michael Horton.

In this episode we review Doug Wilson's supposed evidence that Trump actually won the popular vote and Biden Cheated. Then I give my opinion as to why Trump lost.

In this episode we take a look at the recent debate between James White and Jeff Riddle, and we dive into the basic issue of textual criticism and the history of the textus receptus.

In this episode, we talk about the American government, separation of powers, the death of RBG, and the prophetic significance of the wildfires.
