Apologue Podcast

Pirate/Metal/Punk band from France Barbar’O’Rhum have signed to Mannequin Vanity Records (MVR) and are releasing their 2nd full-length album October 30th, 2020.

The album will be called Journal de B’O’R and it is a substantial upgrade from their first self-released album. Containing eleven tracks for almost an hour and six minutes of Rock ‘n’ Rum, Journal de B’O’R has more shredding guitars and more double-bass with the same wide variety of folk instruments fans love of this band. The album is a fully-themed party from start to finish and you can’t help but swig rum and talk like a pirate

Murray "Hound Dog" Heywood is the Drummer and original member of Exeter Ontario's own UIC. UIC was formed in the early 80's using the 70's sound of Detroit as a back bone. The album FM hill harkens back to those times when friends and locals of Exeter would meet on a high hill top to listen to music from a Detroit radio station. Foggy nights were the best! FM Hill will be released on October 19 2020 on like 90 records. there was a live streamed show booked at the Horseshoe this month, but that date has been moved to November. The album is really really really good!

Dave Rees played drums in the Epitaph era of SNFU. Arguably one of the best versions of SNFU in all of the versions. Most certainly my favourite as I was their sound guy and drum tech for many tours throughout the mid tp late 90's. SNFU taught me how to tour and tour with the proper balance of fun and work. After SNFU, Dave found a passion for video editing and has worked in film and TV for almost 20 years. His Documentary 'dads' has been played all over the world. Living now in Quebec, Dave is still working in the industry he left SNFU for and enjoying family life and some well earned calm.

Cone and I go back to the early 2000's when Sum 41 were first signed to Island Records. A major record deal is something most bands dream of but never manage to see it come together. Being on a major label has its ups and downs. Sum 41 never really had the downs. Although they were seen as this happy-go-lucky band that partied and acted their age was actually pretty smart with their money. Being around for over 20 years and still putting out great albums, Sum 41 will be touring again in 2021. Another great chat with a dear old friend. Thanks Cone!

Harry Miree is a professional drummer that tours with LOCASH. He also has a successful YouTube Channel that teaches drum techniques and functions as a spot for Harry to Vlog. Harry's vlogs are quick witted and on point discussing what it's like being a drummer in today's musical climate. The delivery is from a music lovers point of view and never jaded. But the hardship of playing professional music is stated in a more graceful manner. In the podcast, we talk about punk rock, it's ethics and how it shaped a young Harry Miree. Thanks Harry!
