Apologue Podcast

Chi and I met in 1995 when I was hired on to be the new sound guy for SNFU. SNFU and I worked together for almost 10 years after that first tour that took me all over North America for the 2nd half of the "voted" tour. Chi and I were room mates on tour because it was my turn. Chi wasn't always the easiest to get along with, but he was my brother in rock and he made a very big impact on my life and my future.Rest in Peace Chi Pig | Ken Chinn

Mike Gribben is the drummer and cofounder of "Bad Breed". The Band was formed as a form of therapy to work through demons and loss. their new album The Bad Breed In Ferocious Love is out July 17th on Lizard Snake Records. Ron Hawkins is the principal song writer and lead singer of Lowest of the Low as well as The Do Good Assassins. Ron has been writing and releasing music since the Late 80's and found some great success in the release of "Shakespeare my Butt". And album that has become the soundtrack of many peoples lives. Shakespeare my Butt was the highest sold independent album in Canadian history until the Barenaked Ladies took the record with their self release Yellow Cassette. Both bands were actually on the same label at that time. Strange right? Ron's next release will be "246" which is an album recorded on a Cassette 4 track recorder. Also strange.Anyways, Ron has always been a great guest when he has been on the show. And this one is his forth time being a great guest and supporter of this show. Thanks Ron, Great to see you again!

Limo and I go back 25+ years. I replaced him as front of house sound with SNFU in mid 1995 because of his commitment with NOFX. Limo was the main stage tech and monitor guy with NOFX for 24 years. He's been around the world several times. Also known as Brett Hopkins, he's now settled down in BC as a full time barber. He also plays drums in a band called Modern Terror. See the link for the interview with Jeff Doran in episode 207. Thanks Limo for the great chat and catch up.

Patty O'Lantern is the lead singer and Dave Fenton is the Bass player for Toronto's "Dragged In". Dragged in released a new album on April 28 2020 in the height of a global pandemic. Like everyone in the world, they are dealing with the situation by promoting their new LP Titled L.P. I. The album sounds amazing partially because of the mixing work put in by Jerry Farley who has worked with some great bands like Sick of it All and Lamb of God. Check out this instant classic out now.

Jason Hall is the lead singer of San Fransisco's "Western Addiction". The band was formed in 2003 and took a small break while Jason took care of his new born child. The band has put out a great punk rock record titled "Frail Brey". The album came out on May 15th in the middle of a global pandemic. Like all bands everywhere, Western Addiction have cancelled all their tours and shows until we get through this scare. Thanks to Melanie Kaye PR for putting this together. Stay safe and wash your hands.

Neal Page is the lead singer and guitarist, Tom Gilhuley is the drummer and vocalist of "Panic Problem". Panic Problem was formed in Baltimore with a clear effort to pay homage to the 90's era of power pop punk bands like Bouncing Souls, Green Day, Lagwagon and others. The because everyone needs to stay home and safe, this episode had allot of self reflective statements that might not have been mentioned if we didn't need to stay in isolation. One of my favourite episodes with some stand up dudes! Their new album "Just Calm Down" is out now and is self released. It's a great album.
