Our next episode of Apparent Artist is a celebration of transgender kids and their families. Our guest, Kathi Jenness, leads an incredibly diversified artistic life which includes being a cellist, trapeze artist, kitchen witch, and belly dancer while working to help support the family. She shares how her mother's early death led her to grab life and live to its fullest and to open the door for her children to be fully celebrated exactly as they are and for who they want to be.
Join us to hear how the Jenness family welcomed their daughter into her true identity, and how Kathi keeps the opportunities for creativity and advocacy at the forefront of their lifestyle. Enjoy Shannon's conversation with this intensely lovable, talented, diversity champion- Kathi Jenness.
What's it like to break away from the small town you grew up in for a life that you create from scratch in the Big City? When you are a gay man who knows in your heart that you want to be a father, how do you make parenthood a reality? What's it like to want to be a father at the risk of being single forever? What happens when your dreams start to unfold and you end up having TWINS? Finally, even with a loving husband and dad as your partner and your children's wonderful mom on your team, how do you act in films and onstage, co-create productions, and direct plays? All of these things while working a full-time job? Plus, how do you stay so darned handsome, Chris Kelly? He may not answer that last question, but his beautiful spirit shines through as he answers the rest on our next episode of Apparent Artist Podcast. We hope you'll tune in!
Don't forget to check out the trailer for Chris's upcoming movie L/E/A/R/!

So what, then, prevents a single mom from packing up her paints and putting the easel out in the garage to collect dust? Find out on our next episode of Apparent Artist with guest painter and musician (and comedian, I might add), Jill Blanpea.
