After discussing politics and history with Russian language teacher Anastasia Redkina, I asked Russian yetis. This led to an introduction to some fascinating Russian cryptids and monsters.

Russia has been in American news a great deal over the last few years, and always for negative reasons. We hear a lot about it, but we only ever hear about and from Russian officials as told through the filters of American media.

I wanted to know what an actual Russian thought about recent events. Fortunately, I know one that I could call upon.

Anastasia Redkina is a Russian language tutor (and MY Russian language tutor) and a citizen of Russia. Her answers were fascinating, unexpected, and surprising--sometimes even shocking. Her thoughts about Stalin's role in Russian history, particularly, took me aback. I think it was a great talk and opportunity to see things through a Russian lens.

Her course for Russian language beginners (mentioned in the interview) is at https://aruspro.com/russian-audio-course-for-beginners

As anybody who has been within shouting distance of me over the past 2 years know, I consider Tom O'Neill's CHAOS: Charles Manson, the CIA, the Secret History of the Sixties to be one of the most important books written in the past several years and also one of the very best. Fascinating, dark, impeccably researched, it's an amazing achievement.

Cormac McCarthy's writing voice has always proven very divisive. I believe the detractors are missing out big time.

McCarthy's voice makes the human condition something mythic.

Today I talk to author Tom Janssen about his personal explorations of consciousness, shamanism, nature, and life. He's one of the most interesting people I know and one of the most sincere spiritual seekers I know--and all around fascinating guy that I first crossed paths years ago in an online writing group.

Tom is the author of Red and Rogue Adept. He also works as a senior lab tech and holds a bachelor of science in clinical psychology.

After discovering some research by writer Peter Levenda, I posit the idea that Dylan's great "Man in the Long Black Coat" is about Tituba and the Salem Witch Trials.

Scavenger interview with artist Fullmetal Magdalene. We talk about cryptoart, crypto culture (which is a term I overuse egregiously in the interview for reasons that I can't account for in hindsight), Joseph Smith and Mormonism, Jordan Peterson, and other fascinating subjects.

I had to make a last-minute computer change before this interview, which I blame for the low quality of my voice. Luckily Fullmetal carries the product go great heights.
