  • E4. Money (Part 1)

In This Episode, You Will Learn To:

∙ Recognize your limiting beliefs regarding money

∙ Understand how our self worth contributes to our attitude surrounding money

∙ Create a new truth regarding money

∙ Establish a healthy relationship with this resource

    I am going to say a word…

    MONEY!

What is the first thing that popped into your head when you heard that?

Some will hear the word 'Money' and will immediately think: Generosity. Resource. Freedom. Security. Provision. Opportunity.

Others may hear that word and have their thoughts go to: Greed. Filth. Pain. Corruption. Shame. Lack. Destruction.

Today, we will ask a very important question: How do YOU feel about money?

    Really.

Is it only for other people to have? Is it something you desire to have but feel guilty for wanting? Or, is money something you are excited about having?

We all have some form of baggage around finances. This has come to us through a variety of ways but most often it is inherited from our family and our society.

Let's unpack those bags and discover how we can have a healthy relationship with this necessary resource and use it effectively to change not only our lives, but also the lives of those around us.

    Action:

    Answer these questions honestly:

    • Why do you want money?
    • Why do you deserve money?
    • What did your parents teach you about money?
    • You get to decide your relationship with money. Create a money mantra: Money flows into me. I love money because it allows me to help others. I am getting richer by the minute. Anything that resonates with you to help you attract more abundance in your life and keep a healthy perspective.

  • E3. Time Management 10 Ways to Think About Productivity to 10x Results

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

    • How to prioritize your tasks for greater productivity
    • The benefit of creating a master task list to get your day started right and help you accomplish more
    • Tried and true techniques to help manage your time and increase your efficiency

    Time management.

I have an unusual obsession with this topic. I read books on it for fun and I am constantly learning new ways to be more efficient with the one thing that we are never guaranteed…time.

My dear friend and author, Tammy Ingraham, always reminds me, "Time is Life's money, be careful where you spend it."

We wake up feeling energized, ready to tackle the day and before we know it, it is time to get ready for bed. Where did the day go? And more importantly, did we accomplish the things that we set out to do? Many times, the answer is no. We know we were busy all day BUT…sound familiar

In an age where there are so many things to easily distract, we need to have a plan of action when it comes to protecting our time and making the most of this precious resource.

Let's talk about the ten techniques that will help you master time management so we can increase our focus and get things done!

    Action:

    • Download a timer! It is a game changer for productivity! Modify as needed.
    • Prioritize. Prioritize. Prioritize.
    • Set up your day the night before! Do not waste your morning trying to figure out what to tackle first.

  • E2. Self sabotage

In This Episode, You Will Learn To:

    ∙ Identify self-sabotaging behavior

∙ Recognize your negative patterns and triggers

∙ Create a healthy replacement behavior

∙ Practice the new behavior until a habit is formed

    Let's talk about self-sabotage.

This is a topic that we ALL struggle with! It doesn't matter what level you are at nor how enlightened, it doesn't matter how successful you are or how grateful you are for the life that you have: self–sabotage does not discriminate. You are not alone!

So, why? Why do we do it? Why do we work so hard to realize a dream, an ideal job, a diet, a business, a partner, ideal finances, and then stand in our own way?

Today we will unpack the 3 most common reasons that we self-sabotage, learn to recognize our triggers and gain the tools to begin creating new habits to keep us moving forward with our goals.

    Action:

    • Identify Your Triggers! Is it Steve and his homebrew, binge-watching TV or smoking cigarettes every time you drink? You will lessen the power that your triggers hold over you, just by identifying them!
    • Now that you can recognize what triggers your cycle of self-sabotage, WRITE DOWN what you are replacing this limiting belief or negative behavior with. You can't expect yourself to choose better at the moment, so you have to start reconditioning yourself before the trigger appears again. Don't rely on self-discipline. Instead, rely on healthy, practiced habits!
    • Beware the stories you tell yourself. Stop reliving old chapters and following comfortable, destructive patterns. You are not tied to a label. You can decide each day. You can CHOOSE, who you are today.

  • E1. Intro and How to Punch Negativity in the Face

    Welcome to the podcast formerly-known-as-The-Spark-but-eventually-becomes-PivotMe-because-we-infringed-on-someones-trademark.

(It's okay, we like it better)

This podcast is an upgrade for anyone wanting to build a better life, a better YOU, so you can contribute more to your corner of the world.

I want you to step forward. I want to be The Spark that lights you on FIRE! You can't stay comfortable! I want you pushing. Reaching. I want you to stand up. I want you to RUN. Run towards your goals. Run toward a better life. Even if your life is great, practice gratitude—love your life. But know that this same life won't be good enough for you next year. You need to keep outgrowing yourself!

Ask yourself one question: If you died today, would your best still be inside of you? Have you given it all?

Helping good people become even better, this is The Spark with April Garcia.

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

    • The importance of celebrating your success
    • How to use prior achievements as fuel to push you to your next goal
    • How to break through self-limiting beliefs by recognizing how far you have come
    • The sandwich rule on giving feedback to others, and to ourselves
    • How to focus on what we have done RIGHT with the magic of the Atta-folder

Today, we discuss a problem that many, especially high achievers, face: We do not celebrate our successes.

It is all too easy to reach a goal and just move the goal post out even farther instead of recognizing how far we have come.

Are you celebrating your successes the way you would celebrate the success of a friend? Or, are you accomplishing amazing things and instead of enjoying what you've done, you are dealing with doubt and negativity?

Not celebrating your successes coupled with negative self-talk is enough to bring anybody down.

By focusing on our strengths when faced with negativity, we can re-program ourselves to push through the downtimes (they WILL happen) and to quickly bring ourselves back to the truth.

Let's punch negativity in the face!

    Action:

    • Create your Atta-folder! Right now! Don't leave the site of inspiration without taking action! Grab your phone, make a folder and start moving texts, screenshots, pictures- any and all evidence of your successes and accomplishments! If you are at the office, create a folder in your inbox or on your computer and do the same. Refer to this folder any time a low moment strikes and you need that boost of positivity!
    • Celebrate your successes! Jump up and down about that thing you did even if it was years ago, feel the joy like it was today!
