Apron Work Podcast

In this week's episode, we follow the hype surrounding ALL IN with a somewhat intriguing topic of discussion. We decided to come up with our top matches to show a non-wrestling fan (or former wrestling fan) to pique their interest enough to have them cross over to the dark side. The initial idea was to have the person only see the pre-match video package, the match itself, and the post-match shenanigans without any added information and see what wrestling can be. We found ourselves going a bit off-topic and asked Peach what matches would get him interested in wrestling a bit more, as he is still a filthy casual, but it led to an engaging conversation.

In this week's episode, we discuss the results for the show funded by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks, ALL IN. A night that was already a historic night for the independent wrestling scene before the ring of the first bell ended up being a night that was huge for the world of professional wrestling as a whole and we feel may be a glimpse into the future of the business. Although we never did get those ticket donations to see the show live in Chicago, we did still give our reactions of how we felt about each match from ALL IN, including a pre-show called Zero Hour and some of our favorite moments of the whole show. We also find out if Peach watched ALL IN and if so, how much of it did he watch!? Tune in to find out!

We apologize for the lack of audio quality when Respass speaks throughout the episode. His headset's microphone was accidentally used when recording instead of the microphone he typically uses. It is encouraged to leave negative comments about Respass instead of Walton this week due to this mistake.

In this week's episode, we had the pleasure of talking to the creator of "Book It! The Wrestling Promoter Card Game", Paul LaPorte. This game has been funded successfully on Kickstarter, is a few short months away from being released to its backers (which Respass is one of), and also available through retail. We talked to Paul about a wide array of things ranging from his inspirations for the game and how to play it to his experience on the independent wrestling scene, including his current positions with Truly Independent Wrestling (T.I.W.) based out of Lanesborough, MA. We also discuss the recent SummerSlam weekend events, the upcoming ALL IN, and the current wrestling product as a whole.

In this week's episode, we attempted something different. We tried to give you the best live reactions to each SummerSlam match as we could by recording brief segments at the end of each one and then finishing things off with our overall feelings at the very end. Unfortunately, due to some technical difficulties, we did not get our NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 reactions in as well. We did, however, have a few fellow listeners in the background with us which they contributed about as much to the podcast as Peach has most weeks.

In this week's three-part episode, we discuss the fast-approaching SummerSlam weekend. Joined by returning guest from "The Opie and Friends Show" on YouTube, Jer Culver, for part three of this episode, we focus on the NXT matches included on NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4's card, as well as a short discussion to kick things off about New Japan Pro-Wrestling's G1 Climax. With the limited combined knowledge of Jer with recent NXT programming, Respass with the G1 Climax tournament, and Peach with wrestling in general, this had all the makings of a fun episode. We originally recorded this episode on August 12, 2018, before the go-home show for NXT for SummerSlam weekend. Planned matches, storylines, and angles are all subject to possible changes at the time of this recording.

In this week's three-part episode, we discuss the fast-approaching SummerSlam weekend. Joined by a returning guest from "We Podcast & We Know Things," Greg Hall, for part two of this episode, we focus on the SmackDown matches included on SummerSlam's card, as well as the Cruiserweight Championship match from 205 Live. Respass geeks out a bit on his knowledge of "We Podcast & We Know Things" episodes, and Greg is in awe of finally meeting the legend that is Peach. Also, there is a vague announcement about Apron Work Podcast's first-ever interview coming the week following the SummerSlam live reactions episode. We originally recorded this episode on August 12, 2018, before the go-home show for SmackDown for SummerSlam weekend. Planned matches, storylines, and angles are all subject to possible changes at the time of this recording.

In this week's three-part episode, we discuss the fast-approaching SummerSlam weekend. Joined by returning guest Matt Ficco for part one of this episode, we focus on the Raw matches included on SummerSlam's card along with two more speculated to be additions to the card. Although this is the first part of the episode, this was the third part recorded for the day, and Peach was drinking through all of them, so buckle up for the type of belly laughs that only a Walton and Peach argument can provide. We originally recorded this episode on August 12, 2018, before the go-home show for Monday Night Raw for SummerSlam weekend. Planned matches, storylines, and angles are all subject to possible changes at the time of this recording.

In this week's episode, we do what every semi-successful movie franchise does nowadays and turn "The Peach Pit" into a trilogy. Peach follows up his questioning of what a pipebomb is from last week into his first question of the episode this time around and then asks multiple questions on the presence of WWE in other countries with the start of NXT UK. We also preview what is in store for the SummerSlam preview episodes for next week with how we will be following our WrestleMania preview format with a few twists.

In this week's episode, we discuss the recent announcement by WWE that they will have the "first-ever" all-female pay-per-view known as Evolution. Although this is a historic event for the WWE, we discuss how this may not necessarily be the first all-women pay-per-view event in wrestling, who we believe deserves credit for making this happen, and who we would love to see involved in the event. We also debate whether we feel like just having all of the wrestlers be women is enough for the event and if the rumored Women's Tag Team Championships will come to fruition by this event.

In this week's episode, we did NOT celebrate the 20th episode quite how Respass wanted by having Walton finally cash in on his bet win by shooting Peach with paintballs. Instead, we got into a pretty heated debate concerning the main event at Extreme Rules being "taken over" or "hijacked" by the Pittsburgh crowd. Which consisted of us arguing over if we feel the hijacking was warranted, what is too far when fans take over a show, how this affects others in the audience, and what things like this do to the show's presentation. Trust us; this is a must-listen episode!
