1994 - The Pathe Hotel in Roscrea was thronged for a public meeting convened by the Chamber of Commerce to discuss the feasibility of a Leisure Centre for the town, the cost of which may be in the region of £3m.
1998 - 'T'HE picturesque North Tipperary village of Terryglass scooped two coveted awards in the Tidy Town's Competition. Terryglass emerged as the victor in the Shannon tourism region and also secured the Tipperary County award. A bonus came in the form of the runner-up award in the population category of up to 200, where Terryglass lost out by a mere three points to the overall national award winners, Ardagh.
