I 2001 bhí fear ó Barnan sa chúirt de bharr gur bhuail sé ar doras de dhuine. Tharla sé tar éis 3 ar maidin ar Oíche Chinn Bliana. Dúirt an t-úinéir den teach tábhairne leis chun an áit a fhágáil ach lean sé ar aghaidh ag bualadh an doras. Chuaigh sé chuig stáisiún na Gardaí tar éis.

Along with it being quite an occasion for the Borris club, it turned out to be something of a memorable event all around for Tipperary hurling because three of the four semi-finalists were from the county. 

2001 – A Man from Barnan would appear in court for kicking and knocking on the door of a public house. The incident took place after 3 am on New Year's Eve. The bar manager told him to leave, but he kept kicking and punching the door. He was brought to a Garda station after being removed from the public house, the court heard.
