Henrik Lehtonen, eli Henkka, tuntuu hakeutuvan luonnostaan haasteiden äärelle. Our exploration into the Swedish IT industry continues, as we have a talk with Jonas Bjering from Piktiv. Jonas has been in the field for over ten years and has grown Piktiv from one man company into one of the most prominent employers in the city of Skövde. Lately Jonas has had to leave behind his dreams of being able to both code and be a CEO, but he still carries a long practical knowledge from working in the industry,

Like many CEO's, Jonas has a habit of diving into fundamentals and we tackle subjects as building a roadmap to trust with your clients, and answering the question "Why we exist as a company?". Jonas also shares his predictions on how much machine learning will impact the industry as a whole.

It's often said, that Finland tends to be a couple of years behind Sweden in cultural progression. We continue our attempts to find out if this is true in the field of IT in this episode with Sebastian Monadjemzadeh (or Monad, as he likes to spell it) from Cfinder; a global digital platform designed to connect freelancers with companies offering IT gigs.

The developments in consultants becoming freelancers, companies outsourcing workforce and the growing significance of digital communities can already be seen in Finland. But they are, in fact, just a bit more ahead in Sweden. We even end up discussing the IT in the UK, so this conversation should definitely give you a good perspective on what's happening in the field!

In our previous interview with Janne Kuikka from Talented we heard that Sweden offers a lot of possibilities for software consultants and freelancers. We got curious and this is the first episode of a series of interviews we are conducting with various IT-related companies in Sweden.

Carl Bergström has an extensive career in both selling and recruiting IT talent. He currently works at 7N - a headhunting agency focused on bringing together high-class IT talents with ambitious customer companies. We discuss his views on the role of consultants and the important balance between having the right competences, but still keeping the project team small enough. We also discuss how the Swedish IT ecosystem has progressed regarding outsourcing, offshoring, remote work and knowing the native language.

The second part of the interview with our consultant Kirill Bulatov is all about Rust and Remote! The story starts with his arrival to Finland on a dark Winter night and moves from there to his work with the programming language Rust.

Kirill uses Rust in his project with an American company ShowSeeker and we also discuss how he enjoys working for a remote-first company with a long history in location-independent work. What is it like working for a company where you have never met your co-workers in real life? Does a company like that have a distinct atmosphere?

Kirill Bulatov has always been keen to place himself in a proper feedback loop to learn new skills. This started already as a child when he begun his career in tech by coding a Snake game over and over again with a computer system Subor. All this brought him later to do development work in a multitude of different companies and domains - from Mercartor to banking processes at Yandex Money. With a curious attention to detail Kirill has many interesting stories to tell. In this first part of a two part series we follow Kirill through his childhood and early career in Russia.
