Welcome to Episode 57 where I'm joined by coach Angel Garcia of High Power Archery in New York. Angel wanted to delve into my arrow making decisions and share his wisdom from over 40 years of shooting archery following on from episode 56 and we decided to change things up and record a video podcast (the video element is available on YouTube). We discuss the arrow beef that seems to have broken out again online, my choice of arrow and Angel gives me sage advice on the possible perils of my proposed method of first bend indexing. Welcome to Episode 56. In this episode I'm back down the arrow rabbit hole looking for an all round arrow to shoot with both NFAS and EFAA. I've shot .166, .204, .245 and .359 and each has its pros and cons. I need something that will shoot out to 80+ yards without being too badly affected by wind drift, but also something that is fat enough to catch lines when shooting spots. I'm also looking for a forgiving arrow that can hopefully mitigate my bad shots (there are way too many of those ;-) ). Looking on the better known, more respected YouTube channels led me to Nock On, Exodus Outdoor Gear and a lesser known channel Mat From Texas, who, along with John Stallone and Exodus Outdoor Gear have convinced me to add first bend indexing to my arrow building process. Welcome to Episode 55. We're in a cold, wet July but I've been out and about at a couple of shoots working on switching off from the pressure of scoring and just concentrating on improving my distance judging and making good shots away from my home club. I managed to shoot the fibre optic out of my new Bowfinger scope but thanks to Anthony of The Off Center Archers pointing me in the right direction I have new fibre with me from the States.

Welcome to Episode 53 of the Archery Geek Outdoors podcast. Despite what  I say in the introduction it is definitely episode 53. This episode was recorded on the Saturday night of the campout and I'm joined by Big Jake, his brother Cody, Posh James, the delightful Nurse Kirsty, Alex the Boss, Sniper Mark, Ian and Crazy Kaz. There were copious amounts of alcohol involved so this is almost 4 hours of unbridled chaos including dark humour, innuendo, tasteless jokes and the occasional reference to archery, all peppered with an excessive amount of foul language and merciless personal insults with some of the most genuine people it is my pleasure to call friends. Welcome back, In this, the final episode of 2022, I'm joined by special guest Ryan Clark of the African Allure Hunting Safaris in the longest episode yet at just over 3 hours and 20 minutes. Ryan is a guide and professional hunter and owner of The African Allure Hunting Safaris with almost 30 years experience and specializes in bow hunting, although he also rifle hunts, wing shoots and fishes. We talk about everything from his background in hunting and guiding, equipment choices, shooting tips, dealing with anti hunters, taxidermy, hunting as a novice and his recent experience guiding in the USA. I must apologise for the abrupt ending but with Ryan being in rural South Africa, he lost internet connectivity. We will hopefully have a second episode together in the not too distant future.
