Arianespace has orbited the Hispasat 36W-1 telecommunications satellite for operator Hispasat. The launch took place on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:03 p.m. (local time) from the Guiana Space Center (CSG), Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. This was the first launch of the year for Arianespace, and also the first Soyuz launch into geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) from CSG.

Arianespace has successfully launched two satellites: Star One D1 for Embratel Star One, and JCSAT-15 for SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation. The launch took place on December 21, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. (local time) from the Guiana Space Center, Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. This was the 11th and final launch of the year for Arianespace, the seventh with Ariane 5 in 2016, as well as the heavy-lift launcher’s 76th consecutive success and its 90th launch overall. With this launch for Brazil and Japan, Arianespace confirms its position as the bench-mark launch service provider in Latin America and Asia.

Arianespace has successfully launched the GÖKTÜRK-1 satellite within the scope of a turnkey contract with Telespazio on behalf of the Turkish Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM).

The launch took place on December 5, 2016 at 10:51:44 a.m. local time, from the Gui-ana Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana. This was the 10th launch of the year for Arianespace and the second with Vega in 2016. It also marked the eighth successful launch in a row of this lightweight launcher, which made its debut at the Guiana Space Center in 2012. Arianespace has successfully launched satellites 15, 16, 17 and 18 in the Galileo satellite navigation system for the European Commission (DG Growth), within the scope of a con-tract with the European Space Agency (ESA). The Ariane 5 launch took place on Novem-ber 17 at 10:06 a.m. (local time) from the Guiana Space Center in Kourou, French Gui-ana. Maroš Šefčovič, Vice President of the European Commission, and Elżbieta Bieńkow-ska, European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, were on hand for the launch.

Arianespace has successfully launched the Sky MusterTM II satellite for Australian operator nbn (National Broadband Network) and the GSAT-18 satellite for the Indian space agency ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation).

Arianespace has successfully launched the PerúSAT-1 satellite, within the scope of a contract with Airbus Defence and Space for the Peruvian space agency CONIDA, and the SkySat-4 to -7 satellites for American operator Terra Bella, a Google company.

Arianespace has successfully launched the Intelsat 33e and Intelsat 36 satellites for Intelsat, the world’s leading provider of satellite services. VA232 was the first Ariane 5 dual launch entirely dedicated to Intelsat satellites.

Arianespace has successfully launched two satellites for operators in the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region: EchoStar XVIII for the operator DISH Network L.L.C and BRIsat for the Indonesian bank PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

Arianespace has successfully launched the 13th and 14th satellites in the Galileo constel-lation for the European Commission’s DG GROWTH (Directorate-General for Internal Mar-ket, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs), under a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA).

The company’s second Soyuz launch of the year took place on May 24 at 5:48 am (local time) from the Guiana Space Center (CSG) in Kourou, French Guiana.
