ARISE to Old Testament Societal Justice

Both the Old and New Testaments share a message that call for God’s people to care for the most vulnerable in our world. However, in some Christian circles today, the message of social justice is considered harmful. As those created in the image of God, how do we best ARISE as reflectors of our Creator when it comes to the issue of societal justice? 

Our #WholeLifeReflections for this week:

• Take some time to research and study ancient codes of justice (i.e. Hammurabi’s Code), and compare them to the law God gives the Israelites through Moses. How are they the same? How are they different?
• How can you apply the Old Testament teachings on social justice to your present life? How can you figuratively not reap the edges of your field and leave olives and grapes for the disadvantaged?
• There is too much oppression and pain in the world for one person to tackle it all. In what one area do you hear God calling you to ARISE and make a difference?
