Ballistic Minute with Sergeant Bill

Shooting faster is often a matter of how quickly you can shoot, not necessarily how fast you can pull the trigger. Sgt. Bill shares tips for how to get on target and shoot sooner.

Mia's Motivations with Mia Anstine

How can you get your wife or daughter involved in your favorite gun or hunting hobbies? Mia shared these excellent tips back in episode 34.

Pastoral Pontifications

If we are going to win the gun rights debate, we need to change hearts and minds. We can't cling to our rights and scream about the Constitution and hope to win the debate with emotional anti-gunners. So, how do we do it? Pastor Bennett shares his thoughts.

Prayer of the Week

Keep, we implore You, O Lord, Your Church with Your perpetual mercy; and because the frailty of mankind without You cannot but fall, keep us ever by Your help from all things hurtful and lead us to all things profitable to our salvation; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord who lives and reign with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Clinging to God and Guns

Reformation Gun Club member Jackie writes: "I would like to hear a discussion about competing on Sundays...and missing church services. Is there an appropriate substitute for missing Church on Sunday and competing in a match? How does one do this and not violate the commandment to Keep the Sabbath Day Holy. Lloyd and Pastor Bennett respond.

Prayer of the Week

Almighty and everlasting God, give unto us the increase of faith, hope, and charity, and as we do obtain that which You promise, make us to love that which You command; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Prayer of the Week

Almighty and merciful God, whose gift it is that Your faithful possess all things pertaining to faith and life, we implore You that we may so faithfully cling to Your promises in this life that we fail not finally to attain to Your heavenly glory; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. This week we are playing "Stump the Pastor - Long Form Edition." Lloyd shares excerpts from, and Pastor Bennett responds to, an article by an Army veteran turned pacifist who now questions how followers of a "nonviolent Savior who gives life abundantly can own something designed to take life."

Clinging to God and Guns

The author of today's article is beating his guns into garden tools to show nonviolent love toward his neighbors and doesn't understand why the majority of Christians are wrong on the subject of gun ownership. "As anyone who is committed to Christian nonviolence will tell you, it's not just a belief. It's not just a way of looking at the world. It's all that, but so much more. It's a call to action. Being an imitator of our nonviolent Savior requires action because Christ acted." Lloyd and Pastor Bennett analyze his conclusions.

Prayer of the Week

Almighty and everlasting God, who are always more ready to hear than we to pray and give more than we either desire or deserve, pour down upon us the abundance of Your mercy, forgiving those things of which our conscience is afraid and giving us those good things that we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Christ, our Lord; through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Clinging to God and Guns

For the first three years of Clinging to God & Guns we spent most of our time debunking sermons and articles and speeches of Leftist Christians who try to push gun control using scripture. We don't do that as much anymore because, quite frankly, it got boring. Every article since the shooting in Las Vegas shooting has been nothing but politics and almost no attempt to justify their argument using God's word. And then, lo and behold, the Presbyterian Church USA ordains a woman to serve as the first "Minister of Gun Violence Prevention." We couldn't pass up taking a swing at this one.
