Clinging to God and Guns Inspired by an article in the book "Here I Blog" and a social media post from Rick Ector, Lloyd and Pastor Bennett offer relationship advice for those who want a gun for self- or home-defense but face resistance from a fearful or anti-gun spouse.

Prayer of the Week Grant, we implore You, merciful Lord, to Your faithful people pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all their sins and serve You with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Fear is a powerful emotion. Progressive Christians employ fear in two very contradictory ways to push their anti-gun agenda. We gun-owners should have no fear if we have faith and therefore we should not need a gun. And at the same time we should fear gun violence so much that we should support gun control. But God makes it clear that we should not be afraid. We should not worry or be anxious about this world.

Clinging to God and Guns A listener wrote to suggest that in episode 134 we sidestepped the issue of whether laws limiting the types of guns available to us put limits on our ability to defend our neighbor. Should we, as Christians, be willing to violate such a law based on that argument? Lloyd and Pastor Bennett revisit this issue to provide clarification.

Prayer of the Week Lord, we implore You, grant Your people grace to withstand the temptations of the devil and with pure hearts and minds to follow You, the only God; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Aaron Israel of Fundamental Defense Aaron has been with us since episode 8 and over the course of three years he has provided timely and timeless information. Sgt. Bill and I took his Combat Focus Shooting one day class in 2016. It was my first full-day of self-defense training and it was a real eye-opener. Aaron is a gifted instructor and easily makes the complex understandable. When it came time to find an instructor for my wife's license to carry class, I turned to Aaron. Over the course of the next two years I learned a ton from Aaron, through his weekly tips, his articles, his posts in social media, and my opportunities to hang out with him on the show, on the range, on a road trip to the Louisiana State IDPA match in 2017. I will forever be grateful to him for the content he provided for listeners to this show. I am honored to consider him and friend and I know that whatever he puts his heart and mind into next will be a tremendous success.

Prayer of the Week O Lord, we pray that Your grace may always go before and follow after us, that we may be continually given to all good works; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.

In this episode we bring you a feature-length edition of Clinging to God and Guns where Lloyd and Pastor Bennett consider what God's Word says about government and what we, as Christians, owe the ruling authorities. Leftist gun-grabbers accuse us of loving guns more than God. So we center our discussion around Romans 13, and the idea that government is instituted for our good and ask (and answer) some tough questions. Are we right to refuse to comply with the law if we disagree with it? Was the American Revolution a violation of Romans 13? What about government turned evil? What about gun control? As a Christian, must we comply if the law violates God's law? The questions and answers are difficult and uncomfortable at times, and that's why we ask them.
