Matthew 6:19-21 cautions us to not lay up treasures on earth that thieves can steal, but rather the lay up treasures in heaven. The implication being that you should not own a firearm for home defense because you should not use deadly force in defense of property (ignoring, of course, more nefarious intentions of home intruders).

Following the shocking assassination of an insurance industry CEO on the streets of New York City, voices on the Left have (unsurprisingly) celebrated — or at least justified — the killing, suggesting that it's tragic BUT somehow understandable.
