Ryan Lindley, Ray Rauth, and Producer Mike gathered again for another edition of Around The Horn on Crier Media. They guys were proud to host Douglas Connors from The True North Eager Beaver for this special episode. The guys kicked off the show discussing people going on shows like Dr.Phil to air dirty laundry, and despite knowing the reputations of shows, somebody is always shocked. Online clout chasing is nothing new, the content is just getting more intense. For example, people pretending to be homeless after coming out to their family, only for them to admit it was all an act. - Canadian sports federation and coaches continue to be shady AF - What's the best thing to do on your day off? - If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mach 18, 2023: Around The Horn Podcast on Crier Media brings you its spinoff ATH Sports with Ray Rauth. Ray reviews all the stories he worked on during the week for Crier Media: Earlier this week a video of Mercyhurst University hockey player and son of Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere; Carson Briere was seen pushing a wheelchair down a flight of stairs. Mercyhurst released a statement on the incident, and I asked Twitter what they thought of the response. The answer; people thought it was pathetic. | Last season, casual baseball fans were introduced to New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz, after his entrance went viral across social media. A video of Diaz went viral Wednesday night for all the wrong reasons. In a win-or-go -home game, Edwin Diaz closed out a 5-2 win over the Dominican Republic, sending Puerto Rico to the next round of the World Baseball Classic. Unfortunately, for Diaz, Puerto Rico, and the Mets, Diaz was injured while celebrating the win with his teammates. | Between Wednesday and Thursday I asked Twitter users to vote on the worst fanbase in the AFC East, with 50% of the vote going to Patriots fans. Bills Mafia came in second with 33% of the votes. | Day one of our worst fans in the NFL had the Patriots voted the worst in the AFC East with 49.5% of the votes. Day two of our polls wrapped up Thursday night and Dallas Cowboys fans secured 51% of the votes, officially making them the worst fans in the NFC East. | Day three of our polls has wrapped up and the Cleveland Browns join the New England Patriots as the worst fans in the AFC. | The more the Bills Mafia tastes their version of success, the more sensitive the “hard as nails” table jumpers become. If Bills Mafia is a culture, it’s a culture of cry babies that celebrates being the AFC East Champions (The only championship you celebrate is a Super Bowl) Friday, a former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley said what every football fan on the planet knows, and the Bills Mafia lost its mind.

On this episode of Around The Horn on Crier Media, Ray Rauth, Ryan Lindley, and Producer Mike discuss the differences between the United States and Canada. Ryan told a story that proved Toronto Maple Leafs fans aren’t the worst. Mike couldn’t get pass the second sentence of the Canadian National Anthem. Ray witnessed two of his friends having to deal with racism. Jordan Peterson has a doctorate proving credentials and acronyms don’t mean anything. Cancel culture doesn’t promote positive change and takes the focus off the actual social issue. Dominican strip clubs are nothing like Canadian establishments. Football fans have been absorbing the new Manti Te’o documentary on Netflix. Te’o’s story is a heartbreaking reminder that the mainstream media will build you up and tear you down. It’s also a reminder how dangerous all forms of media can be. On Wednesday’s episode of the Who’s Got Next Podcast, Conor, Mario, Mike, and I discussed the documentary and how everybody is to blame.

When you’re a kid, professional athletes can be role models. You look up to them, you try to mimic your life to be like them. But what happens when those sports heroes let you down? Social media is a powerful tool that allows us to build connections with people all over the world. However, there is a darkside to social media. There are people who use it for evil. Social media can also shape how we think about certain things. Social media has created a mob of “guilty until proven innocent.” What impact does social media have on court decisions? Celebrity chefs have inspired generations of home cooks to show off their culinary flair. But what about the people who expertly prepare frozen food on a night-by-night basis. Is it time to start putting respect on the names of the frozen food chefs?

Toronto FC are riding a four game unbeaten streak and have a huge game against eight place New England Revolution on Wednesday. The Toronto Blue Jays fans stopped treating their current team as future World Series Champions and are now acting like the Blue Jays aren’t a playoff team. The Cleveland Browns players are ready to be a hated team across the NFL, especially with Deshaun Watson at quarterback. The Browns players for all the wrong reasons are accepting the hate, and they’re taking an “us against the world” attitude. The Blue Jays know their season is getting shorter. They’ve blown a golden opportunity to make a run at the AL East with the New York Yankees slumping. More importantly, the Blue Jays are now trying to cling to their once comfortable Wildcard Spot.
