  • Nancy Buirsky Director Of Desperate Souls, Dark City The Legend Of The Midnight Cowboy

A half century after its release, Midnight Cowboy remains one

of the most original and groundbreaking movies of the modern era. With
beguiling performances from Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman as two loners
who join forces out of desperation, black
list survivor Waldo Salt's brilliant screenplay, and John Schlesinger's
fearless direction, the 1969 film became the only X- rated film to ever
win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Its vivid and compassionate
depiction of a more realistic, unsanitized New
York City and its inhabitants paved the way for a generation's worth of
gritty movies with complex characters and adult themes.

But this is not a documentary about the making of Midnight Cowboy.

It is about the deeply gifted and flawed people behind a dark and

difficult masterpiece; New York City in a troubled time of cultural
ferment; and the era that made a movie and the movie that made an era.
Featuring extensive archival material and compelling
    new interviews, director Nancy Buirski
illuminates how one film captured the essence of a time and a place,
reflecting a rapidly changing society with striking clarity.

  • The Daily Mess I Said No

Sticking to your plans. No mater what the circumstances, the sellout is usually against ourselves. Last night at 8:30 I received a message from a major broadcast company that wanted to have a meeting this morning at 9:00. I asked for a different time and could we please do it on Zoom. My reply might come across as disrespectful. Sticking to my plans is leadership. Be known for your word. I'm deeply bothered by the excuse "Something came up." I'm not that guy! When you constantly say yes to others it disrupts your plans with others. Don't walk the path of he or she that can't be trusted. Something came up.

  • Rachel Christine From NBC's The Voice

Rachel grew up in a very musical family. Her grandma had eight kids who

were all musical, and almost all the kids were in the family band, Mad
Fact. When she got to high school, Rachel became the lead singer of the
    school's rock pep
band, Orange Crush. Currently, Rachel works as a bartender where she
serves up drinks, does social media marketing and sings about once a
month as part of the Gebel Girls, a duo she formed with her sister.
While Rachel loves the Wisconsin bar scene, her audition
would be the first time in a long time that she's sung outside of it
    and without her sister.

  • Luke Russert Releases The Book Look For Me There

“Look for me there,” news legend Tim Russert would tell his son, Luke, when confirming a pickup spot at an airport, sporting event, or

rock concert. After Tim died unexpectedly, Luke
kept looking for his father, following in Tim’s footsteps and carving
out a highly successful career at NBC News. After eight years covering
politics on television, Luke realized he had no
    good answer as to why
he was chasing his father’s legacy. As the son of two accomplished
parents—his mother is journalist Maureen Orth of Vanity Fair—Luke felt the pressure of high expectations but suddenly decided to leave the familiar path behind. Instead, Luke set out on his
    own to find answers.
What began as several open-ended months of travel to decompress and
reassess morphed into a three-plus-year odyssey across six continents to
discover the world and, ultimately, to find himself. Look for Me There is
both the vivid narrative of that journey and the emotional story of a
young man taking charge of his life, reexamining his relationship with
his parents, and finally grieving his larger-than-life father, who died
    too young.
For anyone uncertain about the direction of their life or unsure of how to move forward after a loss, Look for Me There is a poignant reflection that offers encouragement to examine our choices, take
risks, and discover our truest selves.
    Luke Orth Russert is an
Emmy Award–winning journalist who was an NBC News correspondent from
2008 to 2016, primarily covering American politics. Since leaving
broadcast journalism, he is the author of Look for Me There, a travel
    memoir about his three-and-a-half-year
journey around the world that took him to more than sixty-five
countries. Based in Washington, DC, he is the son of journalists Maureen
Orth (Vanity Fair) and the late Tim Russert (NBC's Meet the Press).

What will life be like when I reach this page? A thought originally shared on April 8, 2023. My present place is June 27, 2023. Where are you? An author recently wrote about wanting to live the good ole days in his present day. Research proves those days really weren't better. It's how we remember them. When we look back many things make sense. We don't like our present because it's uncertain. It causes stress and discomfort. Where will you be when you reach this message? After receiving it where will you place tomorrows energy?
