  • Maureen Ryan Releases The Book Burn It Down

    An exposé of patterns of

harassment and bias in Hollywood, the grassroots reforms under way, and
the labor and activist revolutions that recent scandals have ignited.

It is never just One Bad Man.

    Abuse and exploitation of

workers is baked into the very foundations of the entertainment
industry. To break the cycle and make change that sticks, it's important
to stop looking at headline-making stories as individual events.
    Instead,
one must look closely at the bigger picture, to see how abusers are
created, fed, rewarded, allowed to persist, and, with the right tools,
    how they can be excised.

    In Burn It Down,

veteran Hollywood reporter Maureen Ryan does just that. She draws on
decades of experience to connect the dots and illuminate
the deeper forces sustaining Hollywood's corrosive culture. Fresh
reporting sheds light on problematic situations at companies like
    Lucasfilm and shows like Saturday
Night Live, The Goldbergs, Lost, Sleepy Hollow, Curb Your Enthusiasm and
more. Interviews with actors and famous creatives like Evan Rachel
    Wood, Harold Perrineau,
Damon Lindelof, and Orlando Jones abound. Ryan dismantles, one by one,
the myths that the entertainment industry promotes about itself, which
have allowed abusers to thrive and the industry to avoid
accountability-myths about Hollywood as a meritocracy, what
it takes to be creative, the value of human dignity, and more.

  • Jesse Kelly Releases The Book The Anti Communist Manifesto

    A rallying cry striking at

the roots of today's major issues, Jesse Kelly uses his trademark
bombast, intelligence, and humor to take down the most dangerous
philosophy in history and address its resurgence in America. THE
    ANTI-COMMUNIST
is for anyone who feels alienated by political and popular culture in
the United States and recognizes the danger of communism as it threatens
to rip apart America's social fabric.

    "Despite the clear danger

that the communist poses, we've allowed him to infiltrate and capture
every important institution in our nation. America's schools, media
outlets, corporations, and laws are now, in part or in total, in service
to his evil cause, which ultimately intends to destroy you, your
family, and your nation. For these reasons, the role of anti-communist
is one of the most important you will fulfill in your lifetime. It must
complement and inform every other role you play,
whether as a parent, a faithful employee, or even as a servant of God.
At all times, and in all decisions you make, the guiding principle of
the anticommunist must remain at the forefront of your mind: Defeating
the communist is all that matters."

    "They have your children,

America. For several generations now you've been sending your sons and
daughters to colleges and universities in the hope that they were being
prepared for a bright future. Instead, what emerged were vicious
communists with more piercings than job skills. Now comes the difficult
question: How do we begin to reverse the damage?"

What will it take to defeat this resilient enemy? That is the question Jesse Kelly answers in The Anti Communist Manifesto.

    The communist has turned

every American institution into a battlefield: from local school boards
to corporate boardrooms and beyond. In this book, Jesse Kelly exposes
the communist and lays out a realistic plan to retake America from
him-institution by institution. For decades now, many have come to
regard communism as phantom from history books or a menace that died
with the fall of the Soviet Union. In doing so, Americans have become
ignorant of the simple truth: the communist is real,
he is motivated, and he is here. But so are we.

    The communists have had

their manifesto for 175 years. Now we have ours. Discover a fresh look
at the daily assault on our freedoms from the insidious communist
movement in this country. More than a political statement, this book is
an insightful drive through history, philosophy, and current events
with one of the most entertaining and fearless conservatives in America
at the wheel. From weaponizing race, sex, and gender to hijacking our
schools, communism threatens to destroy our cherished
American way of life. Featuring "Anti-Communist Action Items" at the
end of each chapter, Kelly provides practical tools and tactics to not
only identify communists but also defend the United States from this
malicious enemy. THE ANTI-COMMUNIST MANIFESTO is
an instructive guide for all patriots.

  • Daniel Jose Older Releases The Book Last Canto Of The Dead

    To

the mortal world—at least, to most people in Brooklyn—Mateo Matisse and
Chela Hidalgo are simply two teenagers in love. Mateo is a brilliant
pianist, but he’s also a typical, chaotic guy. And Chela, the short,
fierce girl he met while playing piano at her bat mitzvah, is a terrific
dancer and a terrible singer, who doesn’t get shook by bullies. As
teenagers, the way they fell in love was dramatic. But their love for
each other goes back centuries—and not only poetically speaking. Mateo
and Chela were once spirits, just spirits. At some point, Galanika the
Healer became one with the boy Mateo. Chela’s goddess roots are even
more complicated—she’s part Okanla the Destroyer and part Madrigal the
Creator. Imagine experiencing the thrill and angst of first love while
grappling with confounding divine powers and serious godly
    responsibilities. And oh, battling demons.

In LAST CANTO OF THE DEAD, award-winning author Daniel José Older continues the story of Mateo and Chela that began in BALLAD & DAGGER.

In Book One of the Outlaw Saints duology, our young couple of very old
souls pulled off the incredible feat of raising their once-sunken native
island of San Madrigal—a vibrant, multicultural homeland to both Cuban
Santeros and Sephardic Jews—from the sea and saving their Brooklyn
diaspora community from the wrath of an ancient enemy. In Book Two, the
culmination to their epic story, Mateo and Chela are faced with saving
San Madrigal from an army of demons in the thrall of a 200-year-old
maniac named Archibaldo, who happens to be Mateo’s ancestor. Meanwhile
back in Brooklyn, their beloved neighborhood is being threatened by
hideous creatures best described as bambarúto, or bogeyman in Ladino, and the fear is dividing the once tight-knit community, with the two sides at each other’s throats.
