  • Ryan Jones From Corvus Lore New Album And Single Blind And Broken

    Since Corvus Lore's

inception in 2015, their goal has been to write music that is memorable, inspiring,
and possesses the perfect blend of the various styles of rock music that they
grew up on — keeping original rock music alive today. And people in the music
industry are taking note. SoundwavesTV has referred to Corvus Lore as the
Bay Area's buzz-worthy band in 2023. Internet show host Chris Akin recently
published his interview with the band stating, "Why Corvus Lore is
the NEXT Velvet Revolver!" Inspiring and eye-catching videos such as
"Boxing Ballerina" have won "Best Music Video" category
at the 2022 Poppy Jasper International Film Festival. And their momentum keeps
building — having shared the stage with notable rock legends like Tesla,
Richie Kotzen, and Dizzy Reed from Guns n Roses, and Eric Martin. They
have also made TV appearances on the KBFX morning show.

    Their sophomore album, 'Lucida,'

scheduled to be release in July 2023 on Valley of Fire Records, contains nine
new songs that will take you on a ride and make you want to set the needle back
again and again. Keep an eye out for their upcoming shows in 2023.

  • Stream Thinking The Attempt To Fit In

Something's not working out like we assumed it would. Has fitting in become the new uncool thing to do? You know! Working well and communicating with others. Keeping a positive attitude is essential inside the four walls of business as well as family. If you don't feel like you fit in, the experts say leave. If it's proving to be a tough journey lean in on having a willingness to observe then imitate. Cultural skills aren't the only thing that might be an issue. A lack of confidence and physical acts of shyness jump in there as well. Well what about those people we don't like. The experts say to get over it.

  • Chris Alexander Releases The Book Corman Poe

CORMAN/POE: Interviews and Essays Exploring the Making of Roger Corman's Edgar Allan Poe Films, 1960-1964 - charting the making of Corman's classic and influential "Poe Cycle" of horror films, featuring a foreword by Corman, himself

    - will hit shelves on June 6, 2023 from Headpress Books.

Written by author and filmmaker Chris Alexander, CORMAN/POE: Interviews and Essays Exploring the Making of Roger Corman's Edgar Allan Poe Films, 1960-1964 is

the only book to fully examine this important chapter in horror film
history. In-depth conversations with the maverick Roger Corman are
book-ended by engaging critical analyses of each of the eight films,
which together stand as a fully realized and consistent creative vision.

The book is illustrated with dozens of photographs and stills, many of which have never been published before.

    THE FALL OF THE HOUSE

OF USHER, THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM, PREMATURE BURIAL, TALES OF TERROR,
THE HAUNTED PALACE, THE RAVEN, MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH, THE TOMB OF
    LIGEIA...

    Produced on modest budgets

for American International Pictures, iconic independent film director
Roger Corman's adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe stories were popular in
their time as escapist horror cinema. Most starred horror icon Vincent
Price and were written (and "freely adapted") by the likes of Richard
Matheson, Charles Beaumont and Robert Towne. Today the series is
recognized as unique and sophisticated, one that delivers decadent
Gothic chills while exploring ideas of faith, sexuality,
    psychology and the supernatural.

  • The Daily Mess Unscrewing Time

    June 19, 2023

I don’t remember my mother warning us about the speed of life.  One minute it’s 1993.  The next it’s 2023.  As a daily writer I fall witness to the speed

of life by the number of pages untouched in this journal.  It usually takes me two months to fill a
journal.  The twist in the understanding
is the amazing amount of speed required to read a week’s worth of
thoughts.  A nine hour workday feels like
a lifetime.  A good night’s sleep is the
blink of an eye.  It confuses our concept
of time.  We don’t respect its
presence.  Mindfulness put us in the
right here and right now.  Understanding
that time is always going to race.  But
being right here right now puts us in control of what is right now.

    Real stories.  The struggle to
Play It Forward Episode 577 With Grunge Rocker Steve Turner

    A down-and-dirty chronicle of the

birth and evolution of the Seattle grunge scene-from amateur skate parks and
underground hardcore clubs to worldwide phenomenon-as told by one of its
founding fathers and the lead guitarist of legendary alternative rock band
    Mudhoney.

"I'm a Seattle musician who got

started playing in punk bands in the early '80s-a few years before the music
scene blew up. And I kept playing in a cult band for over 30 years," says
Mudhoney lead guitarist Steve Turner. "My book covers three parts: the
early days, the glory days, and the post-glory days that still see many of us
playing, raising kids, and earning a living."

Turner's MUD RIDE: A Messy Trip Through the Grunge

    Explosion (Chronicle Prism,
June 13) is an exceedingly joyful promenade through the Seattle grunge scene of
the late '80s, early 90s-it's clear everyone was having a great time, and that
infectious energy jumps off the page as readers travel on a nostalgic journey
with Turner through the basements that shaped the sound to the underground
flophouses to the sold-out arenas with screaming fans. Along the way are
stories about the key moments, musicians, and albums from grunge's beginnings
to its comedown, told by someone who was there for it all.

  • Mikey Helton From Alone On History

    The 10th season of The HISTORY® Channel's

popular survival series “Alone” will push a new group of brave
participants to the limit as they tap into their impressive survival
skills in a fight to be the last person standing and win the $500,000
cash prize. Dropped in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada —
home to vicious predators including territorial black bear, wolves, and
moose — the ten survivalists will compete, endure bone-chilling
temperatures and face off against some of the largest animals in North
America to last for as long as they can. With just
ten survival items per person and enough camera gear to self-document
their experiences, this is the series' toughest season yet.
Mikey Helton grew up in a small town in Georgia where most of his time
was spent in the wilderness. He often had to live without common
comforts, which meant having no running water or electricity and leaning
into living by hunting, tracking animals, fishing,
trapping, purifying water and making fire. Mikey is a carpenter by
trade. Alongside his wife and five children, Mikey practices a lot of
natural and traditional methods like making natural medicines,
harvesting wild foods, and crafting with natural materials.
His youngest son is autistic, but even through his son's daily
challenges, Mikey and his family bring healing to their situation by
    enjoying time in nature.
