Those things people say. They sound so cool and very up to date when in reality most of what we say is old old old. It's rehashing what our grandparents once said. Such as...bat shit crazy!

Those things we say. So much of it arrived two to three hundred years ago. Yet it seems so new today. One such phrase is don't bite off more than what you can chew. Where does it come from?

Is it used today as much as mom and dad buried us with it? Umm yeah. When pigs fly. What? When a phrase becomes figures at Hallmark you know it's gonna be around a very long time. What does it mean?

We say this stuff pretty much every day without realizing it's got history. This one hails from the pages of my father who endlessly told me how much I don't know shit. Really? One day Dad I'm gonna grow up to host a podcast and we're gonna talk about shit I do know. Ha!

My father endlessly shot this line out every chance he could get, "You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground." Where did it come from and why is something so blunt and shameful still being used?

Tell your story walking. In this age of people talk talk talking with no real message to take in, what's the best way to rid your scene with a pain in the ass self-motivated talker?

Wow! Sounds harsh! Could be our present-day place in history. This phrase has a lengthy journey and meaning coming from ships with sails. It actually has nothing to do with swinging cats.

You need your head examined. Ha! Can we count on our hands the number of times that has been thrown at us? It's got an amazing history and rightfully it wasn't about poking fun at another person.

Although we don't really write physical U.S. mail delivered letters anymore, this phrase continues to live on. Nothing to write home about. It's all-over social media and for some reason we care when years past that handwritten letter would've been trashed.
