Speaker and author, Robia Scott tells about her career starting out as a dancer for music videos on MTV which led to touring with Prince for 2 years as "Pearl" of the Diamond & Pearl duo. She then went on to play a role in the original Beverly Hills 90210 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In that time, Robia came to know God as her true comforter and eventually found freedom from chain smoking, eating disorders and other addictions. She walked away from a successful career in the entertainment industry and relied on God to pay the next bill. She now leads a church with her husband in L.A. called Deeper Life and recently released a book titled "Counterfeit Comforts". We are joined by Stephen Roach, host of Makers & Mystics podcast, speaker, poet, author and musician. He is the founder of The Breath and the Clay arts movement which holds a conference and gathering of artists in March in North Carolina. He tells us the story behind the name and how he is seeing a new awakening of artists in the church body around the world rising up to be a strong influence on culture and help bring restoration of people's hearts back to God. As a pioneer in the art and faith movement he encourages us all to not be afraid of being a forerunner but to stay true to the call God has put in our hearts, even when we don't see a prototype for it.

Actor, Chris Massoglia joins us to talk about his lead role in the upcoming film, "Because of Gracia" due out Sept. 15th.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es8qKCZoX3c
It has already won several major awards and is the highest rated faith film since War Room. Chris grew up going out to L.A. for pilot season all through is teen years but decided to walk away from acting at the age of 19. Listen in to hear how God did a deep work in Chris's heart during those years off and really cultivated his faith. Chris's heart shifted during that time from working for God to partnering with God to create work which eventually led to the role in "Because of Gracia". We have a few laughs talking about the movie and the awkward high school relationships it depicts. We also talk about the bad rap faith films get and you'll love Chris's confident responses and his encouragement at the end to not fear the opinions of the world but to walk confidently in the call God has placed on our lives.
We wrap up our first season of the podcast and take a look at how far we've come in a few short months since its birth. We share, transparently, how podcasting was not exactly what we felt experienced at but it's what we felt called to do and God is looking for obedient hearts to spread His love and message. We see the community that is already gathering through our conversations over these last couple of months and it's showed us that we are not alone.
Our guests shared three recurring themes even though they came from all different walks of life. One of those themes was that we all need community and that is why we're here! We have loved hearing from each guest and thank you to our listeners for your support. We will be having some bonus episodes throughout the summer and a giveaway or two so follow us on Instagram

Award winning recording artist Ginny Owens sat down with us to talk about her most recent album, Love be the Loudest. She reveals the story behind the title as she speaks candidly about living in a sea of noise as a blind person who hears many voices all day. Like all of us, Ginny wrestles with that same voice we hear in our heads that tell us we aren't worthy or good enough. In the past couple of years, Ginny experienced some vocal issues and also discovered a benign tumor in her abdomen. That season of fire led her to declare to choose God's voice of love to be the loudest one she hears no matter what she goes through.
Ginny received critical and commercial acclaim starting in the late 90's when she released her debut album, Without Condition, under Rocketown Records. She was named New Artist of the Year in 2000 by The Gospel Music Association and earned two additional Dove Awards. She had several radio hits that followed and also her music used for television and film. She co-authored a book with Andrew Greer called Transcending mysteries: Who Is God and What Does He Want From Us (Harper Collins 2015). You can find more about her, her music and other projects at

You can view her most recent music video and also see her "How I See It" series of videos where she gives a glimpse into her daily life of how she performs daily tasks to help inform the public and her fans about living with blindness.

Vincent Hardy shares his incredible testimony of discovering dance after battling obesity most of his young life and found himself at 315 pounds in 8th grade. As he started dance classes, the weight began to fall off and Vincent found his voice and a confidence he had never known. He excelled in dance and went on to get a full scholarship to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he earned a BFA in ballet performance. His senior year, he joined "Complexions" Contemporary Ballet Co. with director, Desmond Richardson and traveled the world.
Vincent continued to encounter God along the way which led to a transformed life of surrender and getting his masters at University of California, Irvine, on a full scholarship. Vincent felt the need for dancers to have a place for training professionally and also being equipped spiritually. He felt challenged with the decision to invest in growing his career vs. growing a generation.
This led Vincent to establishing https://www.ziondanceproject.org which is a growing platform for believing artists to share their faith filled art with freedom and confidence. It has an online platform as well as a workshop to attend. You can find their youtube channel here.

Philip grew up in the 80's traveling the country in a camper with his parents doing puppeteer evangelism. In college, Philip turned to music and had his sights set on film design and composition. But on a spring break trip to Brazil, Philip performed his marionette theater show in a brothel for pimps, prostitutes and witch doctors and God "wrecked" his heart for the sake of the gospel. Philip saw how God could use his theatrical art form to transform lives. Philip is a 4th generation marionette evangelist and travels the world with the Suitcase Sideshow marionette puppet theater he founded. http://suitcasesideshow.org/Welcome.html Philip shares some incredible stories. His boldness and heart of surrender is contagious and will inspire you!
Author, educator and photographer, Sharon McKeeman, joins us on the show. She describes how early in her adult life, art and faith were viewed as completely separate. Only after beginning to share her story of the painful loss of a full term stillbirth son did she use writing to merge her art and faith. By telling her story, it created a space for others to share in the same grief and realize they were not alone. Through two more pregnancy losses, Sharon learned her anger, doubt and despairing was actually awakening her heart to be more real with God and she saw He was still there as her sure hope and joy in the midst of it all. In addition to telling her story, she is also an art educator with online courses on using photography to find the unexpected art in daily life.
Becky L. McCoy tells her story of a long season of multiple losses in her family, including becoming a young widow with her 2nd baby on the way. She's honest about being angry with God and shares how only after doing the hard work of facing the grief and the anger, was she able to begin to find healing. As a creative, Becky used writing to process her experiences which eventually birthed a podcast where Becky invites others to share their stories of living bravely through hard seasons of life. Becky also shares with us the nitty gritty of writing a book proposal and how she balances single parenting with her creative pursuits and dreams.
