On this episode I hang with Sso-Rha Kang at Mom 'n 'em Coffee in Madisonville. Sso-Rha is the Curator at the Carnegie in Covington, KY. Have you ever met someone and thought...wow she's so smart and cool, I would like to know them better...well that's Sso-Rha for me. She has curated exhibitions for Wave Pool, The Carnegie, Pearlman Gallery, Third Space Gallery and The Contemporary Arts Center. She is currently one of two Consulting Curators for the state of Ohio in the exhibition New Worlds: Women to Watch (2024) for the National Museum for Women in the Arts in Washington, DC. A related touring exhibition of Ohio-based artists opens at the Riffe Gallery in Columbus on July 29th. We talk about curating an exhibit and all the things that it entails...from coming up with a theme/idea, finding artists, visiting studios, organizing logistics, installing shows and creating an event. These are just some of the things we talked about. Listen to this one and you'll immediately feel smarter.
