Dana Duff is an artist and sculptor who tends to prefer the nonstatic image over the still; ranging from documentary to more experimental type films. She is currently a sculpture/New Genres professor at Otis College of Art and Design.

Elmer shares his initial interest in art making, graffiti, and how that led him to pursue a career in art. Today, he paints abstracted portraits of underrepresented individuals, such as homeless people in his community, in an exploration of identity and its changes through displacement.

Flatline co-directors Elizabeth Munzon and Cynthia Lujan sat down with us in their studio/gallery in North Long Beach to discuss the challenges and triumphs of opening a new space, local art collectives, life after art school, and their own work. Mario Ybarra Jr. is a visual artist that has shown all over the world, a founding member of slanguage studio, and a teacher that lectures all over the city. From his studio in San Pedro we talk about his work with aspiring young artists, scary movies, critical thinking, and making art out of whatever you got.
