A mediocre campaign by McKay's men climaxed with a rain-soaked upset of #3 Notre Dame and Dr. Bartner's first foray into the entertainment world with an appearance at halftime by famed composer Henry Mancini.

Our hosts then talk about the annual "Weekender" trip to the Bay Area — a Trojan  Marching Band tradition dating back to the 1920s. Since the Trojans would have been on the Farm this Saturday, Dr. Bartner discusses how the Stanford Band influenced him when he was first starting out at USC.

In the first episode of the Artcast limited podcast series, Dr. Arthur C. Bartner and USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham discuss the 1976 football season, which turned around dramatically after a blowout loss in the home opener. With a little help from The Spirit of Troy, the Trojans rebounded to win the rest of their games, including a Rose Bowl victory over #2 Michigan.
