For the last episode of the Artcast, Dr. Bartner and Ryan start with an update on the 2020 USC Football season headed into the Crosstown Showdown and the crazy highlights that got the Trojans to 4-0. Dr. Bartner then takes listener questions, including what he will miss least about being director. Our hosts then discuss one last tradition, the TMB's "rock star" status among marching bands. They discuss two of the Trojans' most iconic collaborations: "Tusk" with Fleetwood Mac and the Grammys performance with Radiohead.

This Sam Darnold-led team went from 1-3 to a victory in one of the most epic Rose Bowls ever played. Then, Ryan and Art talk about The Spirit of Troy's work in Hollywood — from the silver screen to the small screen to behind-the-scenes — including the band's first appearance on the Academy Awards and the time they photobombed Forrest Gump.

In the penultimate Artcast, Dr. Bartner talks about one of his favorite coaches of all time, Ed Orgeron. Ryan and Art discuss Coach O's short but memorable time helming USC Football, the special bond he fostered with the band, and his Trojans' upset of #5 Stanford in 2013. Our hosts then turn to the Trojan Marching Band's role as "LA's Band," from playing City Hall to the Hollywood Bowl. They also talk about the TMB's offshoots, the Laker Band and the 10-piece band, which receives 600 requests a year.

Dr. Bartner and Ryan discuss USC Football's sanctions era and how the team pushed through adversity and past Oregon to go 10-2 in 2011. The hero of that win over the Ducks, Matt Barkley, talks about the thrill of leading the band on the road after a hard-fought victory. Our hosts then turn to the band's international exploits as USC's "World Ambassadors," including "conquering" the Great Wall of China and the time the Secret Service booked the TMB for a gig in Prague.

Dr. Bartner and Ryan begin by paying homage to the most thrilling USC Football player in recent history, Reggie Bush. They talk about his record-breaking game against Fresno St. and how he pushed the Trojans past Notre Dame in 2005. Our hosts then discuss how the TMB was one of the first college bands to support women's athletics, including the groundbreaking 1983-84 USC Women's Basketball team led by Cheryl Miller.

Ryan and Dr. Bartner return to the dawn of the Pete Carroll era and hear, in his own words, about how his relationship with the band got off to a rocky start. They then talk about the Trojans' two Heisman quarterbacks and how they defied the award's "curse" in their respective Orange Bowls. The guys then get into the Jock Rally tradition, where the Trojan Marching Band plays for the team on the Friday before each home game. Also, Dr. Bartner reveals his favorite classical composer and reminisces about his own (very short) football career.

They then discuss USC's Olympic heritage, both in athletics and music. Dr. Bartner reminisces about the greatest marching band to ever take the field: the 1984 Olympic All-American Marching Band.

Dr. Bartner and Ryan delve into the Larry Smith years and some of its star players, including Rodney Peete, who the band helped recruit to USC and later played at his wedding. They also discuss the big games of era: the "Measles Game," the 1990 Rose Bowl, and the 42-point fourth quarter Crosstown Showdown that same year. They then talk about the band's consecutive game streak, which began at the request of Coach Smith in 1987 and has lasted 415 games. Dr. Bartner shares his favorite pregame rallies and how one in particular fulfilled a boyhood dream.

Our hosts begin in the fall of 1984. Dr. Bartner's daughter Debbie was a Song Girl and, through her, he became close to the USC Football players. That team went to the Rose Bowl and pulled off an upset of Ohio St. with a defensive performance led by two All-American linebackers. Ryan and Art then turn to the band's in-game traditions — from entering the Coliseum to the final whistle — including the traditional pregame show and "choreographing" the action on the field.

Dr. Bartner and Ryan Abraham begin with a discussion of what might be the most-talented USC Football team of all time. The 1979 squad featured two Heisman Trophy winners, a Lombardi Award honoree, 15 draft picks, and four future NFL Hall of Famers. The 10-0-1 Trojans made it to the Rose Bowl and topped Ohio St. with a last-minute drive for the ages with Charles White leading the way. Speaking of the Rose Bowl, Art and Ryan then delve into the traditions surrounding "The Granddaddy of Them All," including the 5.5-mile march down Colorado Boulevard and the pageantry of the game itself.
