Wetlands was described as, “the most wtf, nsfw movie at this year’s sundance film festival,” by whoever was quoted on the poster. This German coming-of-age story is based on Charlotte Roche’s debut novel and focuses on a girl who has divorced parents and unconventional views on hygiene. Was it a groundbreaking exploration of the limits of intimacy, or a loose retelling of The Parent Trap with anal fissures as a plot device?

The film stars up-and-comer Carla Juri (Stationspiraten, Der Kriminalist), and Meret Becker (Die kleine Meerjungrau) in a role unlike anything you’ve seen her in before!

We are joined by guest co-host Sheila Valleri as we probe all the nooks, crannies and orifices of this film which co-host Darrel Taylor said made him want to, “bleach my [his] eyes.”

Showtime’s The Affair is a new drama about a . . . (wait for it . . .) affair, told each week from both his and her point of view. Think of it as Rashomon: the series. Many hailed the first episode as the best pilot of the new television season. Was it?

It stars Ruth Wilson (2009’s The Prisoner remake, one of the many Jane Eyres), Dominic West (John Carter, Punisher: War Zone) and also has the guy who plays Carmine Falcone in Gotham.
