After a little busy break we're back!!!!!

Being one of the most striking posters that had been put up in the Liverpool Arts Bar as it opened, it only felt right we invite, 'She Drew the Gun' on Noisey Neighbours! Louisa, Jimmy and Jack joined Ben and Wilson in the Library!

Talking about the poster specifically we hear about the ideas behind it. This leads straight into a lyrical discussion how happy psych pop melodies hide darker lyrics laced in hope! Quite a mouthful!

Hear how they took their first album, stripped it back to take it on tour and developed their sound into what it is now. A sound so good in fact they won the Glastonbury Emerging Artists competition 2016!

Those Two Weeks came to talk to us about their run at the Epstein Theatre.

Those Two Weeks isn't a play about Hillsborough. It's a play about before. It's a play about the last time life was normal, and just how hard normal can be.

It starts on the 1st of April 1989 and ends on the night of the 14th, and it's the story of two weeks in the life of one very normal Liverpool family.

Written by the Hope Playwriting Prize Highly Commended Award recipient, Ian Salmon and directed by Naughty Corner Productions' Mike Dickinson. The play performed at the Unity Theatre in early 2018 and now appears at The Epstein Theatre for five performances.

Ben's back in 'The Library' again this week with cast, producer and director of 'Death & the Maiden'.

'One night a stranger knocks on the door of a survivor of torture and her human rights lawyer husband. She recognises the stranger's voice. Convinced he is the perpetrator of her violation, she proceeds to force a confession…

The play questions personal morality, the nature of guilt and innocence, and how redemption is possible after personal and national divisions. '

Based on the work of Ariel Dorfman, everyone discusses how important this play is to the current political climate as well as delving into personal relationships. The play itself won the 1992 Laurence Olivier award for best new play. Cast and crew being at the top of their game this one will be a show not to be missed.

Back from Scotland with a bang. Wilson kicks off this episode (rudely) and introduces some of the cast of Lost Boys. A humorous and heartfelt play by award-winning Formby playwright Luke Barnes, featuring energetic original songs by long-time Kneehigh collaborator Dom Coyote and Britain's best young talent from the National Youth Theatre, some of whom we have a natter with.

We hear all about rehearsal period, script, casting and future projects. Due to the nature of the show we've kept our silly games to ourselves this week. Saying that we discuss the moments that either make us cry in an effort to blast away toxic masculinity.

IT'S AN EDINBUGH FRINGE SPECIAL!!!

All month we'll be walking you through several productions that've travelled from the Liverpool area and will be performing their pieces at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Ugly Bucket Theatre, Rubbish Shakespeare, Murder Ballads and Courtyard Players!

In the final instalment we talk to the Courtyard Players who are taking not one but two shows up to the Fringe this year! Good friend of the show Josephine Sherlock stars and directs, with new friend of the show, Christopher Daley doing much the same!

"Jumping the Barriers" is a comparison of social and economic inequality when a young graduate has to share a train journey with a homeless Scouser, with hilarious consequences.

"What Are You Wearing?" shows us the unreasonable standards to which we hold women in the modern dating environment. Between Tinder, dating sites and even friends of friends, it's never been easier to find a date. Yet it's never been harder to find a good one.

This week we managed to get caught up with show favourites, MURDER BALLADS. We covered this production in our very first episode, a lot has changed since then. Liverpool Arts Society have said so much about this amazing show! If you like music, dance, murder, evil and a brilliant story, look no further! GET TO THIS SHOW!

Murder Ballads is adapted from the 1995 album of the same name by cult artist Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. A hybrid of theatre, music and cabaret, the show's four actor/musicians transport you to O'Malley's Bar in the town of Millhaven, 1882, in the wildest part of the old Wild West. Weaving Cave's outrageous songs into a darkly comic narrative, the performers take you through stories of betrayals, blood baths and bar brawls. Expect an evening full of laughter, horror, top-notch music and one of the highest death counts you'll ever experience at the theatre!

This week we managed to get caught up with the Rubbish Shakespeare Company! Old friends of the show, Lee Hithersay & Mark Lea popped in to the Library! Bringing a new show to Edinburgh this year, a Midsummer Nights Dream, we hear about a difficult rehearsal process and how that leads to a hilarious, meta (3-levels of meta) show!

A Midsummer Nights Dream - Runaways. Fairies. Goblins. WATER PISTOLS!?! Look out, it's Rubbish Shakespeare! The madcap quartet is back with a fresh take on the Bard's impish tale of forbidden love and cheeky pixies. Their plan: to stage the greatest Dream EVER seen. Will they succeed? Of course not - they're 'Rubbish!' Stuffed with high-octane slapstick action, mischievous storytelling and belly laughs for ALL ages, they'll make a mess of this Dream, even if it bruises them. No Shakespeare knowledge needed.

We start by talking about Theatre, Chris is pre-production at the moment. We hear about his Shakespeare antics in the Kazmier to where fringe theatre is at in Liverpool as a whole.

Tickle the ivories is an amazing attraction to Liverpool One for the summer. From the likes of Gerry Jones to the blind pianist Frank McFarlane, it is something not to be missed and/or tickled.

Moving swiftly on, THRESHOLD FESTIVAL! Find out how you use every contact you have in order to not only organise but run a successful Festival within a city! We hear about all the early years the hay day of the Baltic resurgence. Chris also announced (a hot scoop) that next year will unfortunately the last. Being a man of many/all the talents, Chris also does educational work within schools, Literacy, history, maths workshops with either a whole school or year group. Doing over 15 workshops, he uses his drama background and freelance skills to capture young people's attentions. We also talk about Sound City, theatre etiquette, DJ'ing jungle at 2am. No quiz this week but we've got lots of quizzes coming up over the next few episodes.
