Frank Lingo is a former columnist for The Kansas City Star, his novel, Earth Vote is a fictional story about everyone in the world getting a chance to vote for peace. Josie Mai Executive Director of Spiva Center for the Arts-In August 2016, 80 local, regional, and national artists were invited to a year-long sketchbook project. The artists have one year to fill the sketchbook, until Labor Day 2017. The sketchbook will return to Spiva where it becomes the property of Spiva Center for the Arts and archived in the library where the community can come view the sketchbooks. The sketchbooks will also be scanned and posted to Spiva's website. There is a scheduled exhibit in May 2018 that will display framed color 2-page spreads of several of the original sketchbooks. The 80 artists participating are ages 8-80, creatively and concurrently documenting their thoughts, interests, hopes, and dreams.
