I used to be a baby

way way back in

that land of maybe

long ago....

And I didn't get a choice

back then I had no voice

only the soft cry i wailed

as thew slapped me

on my tiny cheeks

as I came into the world.

And I used to have

a Mom and Dad,

But they're both gone now

and it makes me sad.

I've become a Father

like my Daddy was

of things differently .

He wasn't always

there for me

even though I realize

that's how it had to be...

We shared a whole lot

of love and poverty

and he worked his

fingers to the bone

for his family...

and I'll always

love him tenderly.

But I've come to realize

Life is all about babies

and those incredible Maybes

and promises

each baby brings.

We all are a gifts from God

wrapped in the

flesh of newborns

and a world without babies

would be filled with a sad

absence of Maybes
