Arz Kiya Hai

Welcome to Episode 3, where we "check ourselves, before we wreck ourselves"! Talia and Mehru deconstruct their privilege and womanhood by sharing experiences that have brought forth this podcast! We recognize that we don't represent majority of the South-Asian women however, the underlying struggles of being a woman are not foreign to us. We dive into our personal lives and struggles with harrassment, nose piercings, red lipsticks, ghungroos etc and uncover the trajectory of a desi woman’s life. 

We critique the society that shaped our identity but also led us to question the basis of this identity!

In Episode 2,  Talia and Mehru talk about their long immigration experience with some fun highlights and some disheartening challenges. As a Pakistani immigrant in Canada, they finally get to hang out with boizzz, meet Indians (Yes Pakistanis, they are just like the ones in Bollywood), admire the resilience of new refugees/immigrants and question racists who fear newcomers!

A podcast featuring two desi women with big mouths and a pressing need to question society’s expectations of womanhood. Forced into a friendship by their Desi moms, Talia and Mehru recite their stories and experiences of adulting, desi larkay, self-love, log kya kahenge, bhai bhen ka rishta and much more spicy chatter.
