[SEEKING OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW]
Always.
That’s the life of an entrepreneur, always looking for something.
Kinda makes you feel like you’re lost at times.
I feel that, I understand that, and I have a potential solution.
We’re always on the lookout for our next lead, our next sale, our next something.
Always looking.
Something I have found that helps me in these moments of feeling adrift is collaboration.
Normally, when people think about collaboration they think about two companies sharing a job. A simple bottom line equation.
That’s not how I roll, lol.
I’m just not wired that way.
When I think about collaboration I think about it as a creative thing. That’s why I define my ideal collaborators with a few questions.
Who would I enjoy working with?
Who is going to inspire me to do my best work?
Who is going to teach me something?
Those are the questions I ask myself whenever I step into any sort of collaboration. As a result of the way that I pick them, whenever I need a help I hand in a creative area I usually think about the people I have previously collaborated with as my first port of call to talk to.
If I need direction, I call my collaborators.
If I am stuck, I call on their knowledge and expertise.
If I want to take things up a level, I ride the wave of their energy.
Collaboration makes things better for everyone. I heartily recommend seeking out opportunities to collaborate with people; it can be for business, or creative, or whatever you need it to be.
The more small businesses like ours come together, the stronger they will be. You benefit, they benefit, and the customer benefits. A win-win all round.
The economy is floundering, businesses are going under. In this world of ‘wtf will even happen next’ we could all do with strengthening our businesses.
Of all the brands around today, a lot of the strongest brands around were born out of the last recession. The reason they’ve gained such strength since then is because of their willingness to collaborate.
Unfortunately, lots of these businesses slowed down with the collaborations when they began to gain real success and momentum. Those that slowed, will suffer.
Collaboration benefits everyone involved.
Being so self important that you wouldn’t consider a collaboration benefits nobody, least of all you.
Collaboration also opens your brand up to a whole new audience without any of the legwork. Sharing audiences will benefit all involved.
