LBG Paul Bailey joins us for the first time on an Ask A Guide to talk about the Army of the Potomac's Major General John Newton. A Virginian who remained loyal to his oath to the United States of America, Newton participated in the construction of the Washington defenses, led a brigade in the Peninsula Campaign and worked his way up to the rank of major general and controversially commanding the 1st Corps here at Gettysburg.
