  • Developing A Successful Attitude About School to Work – Part Four
On September 11, 2010, our show will resume after recess at White Apple Institute.
After recognizing the lives of the many lost on 9-11-2001, we will review and discuss how to support adult students and employees with developing successful attitudes. We have exciting guests lined up!
Many people expect that the older person in a community is the wisest one without questioning their academic ability. This attitude has prevailed since the beginning of time because the older person has always been the teacher merely because he or she has experienced more time living.
However, as adult learners (18+) become more knowledgeable in technology, computer communications, advertisement, sexuality, the entertainment industry, and so many forms of education appear more enchanted by the wise, mature person who can help them succeed in today’s careers. Very few adult learners find enchantment by the wise elders in the community. Let's discuss why?
Visit us on radio by Internet http://blogtalkradio.com/student2teacher or call 1-646-727-3758, Saturdays 10-11am-AZ time zone and enjoy listening to our global broadcast or prior shows.

  • Developing A Successful Attitude About School to Work – Part One
Professor Applewhite invites professionals from the field of education, mental health, wellness, and related fields to discuss developing successful attitudes about school leading to great jobs! We especially invite wise students and parents and wish to bring to their attention “The biggest mistake you can make is to believe that you work for someone else” (H. Jackson Brown, The Father’s Book of Wisdom). There are emotional, mental, and learning disabilities that must be addressed at every stage of development. Most surprising is the drug use, violence, and eating disorders, and so much more that affect adult student’s attitudes about the importance of being successful at school, college, job training, and moving up the “ladder of success”. The workforce has changed and it requires changes in ourselves.

  • Adult Students and Employees are Bullied, Too!
Professor Danita Applewhite shares a unique discussion with Adult Learners and employees who experience stress from being intimidated “on the job” and “in the classroom”. Many adults find it just as difficult to report adult education teachers, employers, college professors, and even harassment by other students or co-workers as our youth. Many students from pre-teen through high school have committed suicide and developed anxiety disorders. Listeners on today’s show will be surprised to know how difficult it is for adults to discuss these situations we assume we can handle it or they feel too embarrassed to share it with family or friends. Listen to Professor Applewhite’s suggestions and other invited guests to address these situations. Remember if you miss our Saturday show at 10-11am (AZ time) it will be saved at http://blogtalkradio.com/student2teacher or email [email protected].
