To justify the NEW Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) public notice requiring all online content creators, providers, distributors, etc to seek for authorisation from UCC by 5TH October 2020, UCC flouts Regulation 5 of the Uganda Communication (content) Regulation 2019 as justification in the public notice) Regulation 5 of the Uganda Communication (content) Regulation 2019 provides that one of the functions of UCC is to monitor, inspect, license, supervise, control, and regulate communication services in Uganda. This will be carried out in the following ways; Through monitoring; Content carried by operators, Content services providers; including third party content providers transmitting content through an operator, content relating to postal articles, and Advertising content. Meanwhile, all this monitoring is happening on the backdrop of your freedom of speech and expression as well as the right to privacy. August 20, 2020To licence coffee farmers or not to license?
With the coming in to force of the enactment of the National coffee Bill on Wednesday 5 August 2020, mandating the registration of all the 1.7 million coffee farmers in Uganda by the Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) repealing the Uganda Coffee Development Authority Act, Cap. 325.
The registration of farmers will entail capturing details of the size of land, the number of coffee trees, particulars of a farmer, coffee buyers, sellers, and nursery bed operators.

⬇️Over the weekend of 27th/July/2020 Minister of Kampala, Ms. Betty Amongi issued a directive banning creating a Boda Boda free zone which banned commercial cyclists (Boda Boda ) from accessing the city center and surrounding places.
⬇️KCCA is using this opportunity to carry out mandatory registration of all boda boda in Kampala.
⬇️for a rider to qualify for registration they have to present their national identity card and other documents with their personal information.
