Prior to writing her first novel, Marie studied theater at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and then became a drama teacher. Marie live with her husband, as well as our dog and two cats, in Southern California. Marie is a travel enthusiast, and spent five years living abroad in England (where Marie met her husband). Marie was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at sixteen, which was around the time when a classmate had threatened to kill her.
