On Butterflies of Wisdom today (Wednesday, October 25, 2017), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes John   Furniss. John is   an artistic   woodworker in   the   Pacific   Northwest.   He has   been fully   blind since the age   of   16   and learned   woodworking at   a   school for   the blind   in his   early   20’s.   His teacher was also   blind and   was able   to share   adaptive techniques   with him   specifically for   woodworkers without sight.   John relies   heavily on   visualization and   his sense   of touch   during his   process.   For his pieces,   he creates   a   “blueprint”   in his   mind.   He is   drawn to   exotic hardwoods   and contrasting colors.   John knows   what it’s   like to   face extreme   challenge and   come out   stronger on   the other side.   His perseverance   shows others   there are   no real   limits in   life except   those that   we create. On Butterflies of Wisdom today (Wednesday, October 18, 2017), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Jethro Jones. Jethro is the Principal of Tanana Middle School, and host of the Transformative Principal Podcast, where he interviews principals, leaders, and influencers who help improve K-12 education throughout the world. While growing up, Jethro attended five elementary schools, a middle school, and three different high schools. This experience instilled a desire to provide the most nimble educational experience possible, so that all students — no matter how long they are at his school, can pursue their own interests and work to their individual potential. Jethro has always pushed the envelope on learning situations.  As principal at Kodiak Middle School he implemented a flexible schedule that allowed students to have Tier 2 interventions and enrichments. These complex logistics are facilitated with the Pickr app, which Jethro helped develop to allow continuous adjustments of schedules tailored to meet students’ needs. Jethro has provided simple solutions to complex educational problems as a principal, district coach, library supervisor, and middle school teacher. • Madeleine Davis

On Butterflies of Wisdom today (Tuesday, October 17, 2017), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Madeleine Davis. Madeleine is the creator of The Parenting System and The Stress-Free Family and a serial entrepreneur with decades of coaching and consulting experience. When she had her three children, she found the transition from entrepreneur to mompreneur very challenging. After years of struggling to feel overwhelmed and exhausted from parenting, she decided to use her CEO and business skills to create a system for herself that would allow her to "look, act and feel" like the "together mom" she so badly wanted to be. The change was fast. Other moms began to take notice and ask her to show them what she was doing so they could do it too - -and The Stress-Free Family was born. Madeleine helps moms create well functioning, stress-free homes so they can confidently create the loving, happy home they want to raise their children in and be the fun, relaxed mom they want to be. On Butterflies of Wisdom today (Monday, October 16, 2017), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Alexander Peat. Started playing soccer when Alexander was three years old. Before he started school. Raised by two beautiful parents who were both born in Scotland. Two older sisters who always had him back. Alexander feel as though he has the best parents in the world. They support me through absolutely everything. Coasted through public school involving himself in as many things as possible. Went to the high school where Alexander’s public school fed into. All was fine, one of his friends passed away in Grade 9 which was tough. Went through the rest of high school playing soccer and in the band and being involved in as many leadership opportunities as possible. It came to university choices where Alexander studied at Kings University at Western University. Alexander then lost his friend between the summer of 1st and 2nd year tragically and that kind of changed everything for him. Until recently Alexander fell into a slump where he wasn’t always staying true to himself, and that’s the message Alexander want to talk about. Being true to yourself and sometimes not always keeping everyone around. It sounds harsh but being true to himself and authentic with what Alexander do has helped get himself to where he wants to be today and has allowed Alexander to set himself on a path where he will continue to grow and learn. Alexander is a postgraduate student at George Brown for sport and event marketing and currently in his internship. Never underestimate the power of authenticity.
