On Ask Win today (Monday, March 12, 2018), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Eric Thomas. Eric, a young motivated, ambitious businessman, leads a busy life. As well as the leading force behind "EZ Awareness By Design", specializing in graphic design, custom apparel, signage, and vinyl banners, he is a public speaker, philanthropist, volunteer and advocate for the disabled. His keen business sense began before the early age of ten when he started renting his Nintendo video games in the neighborhood. Music has always been an influence in Eric’s life from writing to recording his album with the Hip Hop group “Mizcellaneous”. Appreciation and the love of music and photography eventually led Eric to Lansing Community College where he pursued a degree in photography and broadcasting after graduating from Clio High School in 1996. A random shooting on the fateful night of September 20, 1997 changed Eric's life forever. A young man with dreams of a career in music or photography learned that life is not always fair. Left paralyzed from the neck down by a bullet to the C3 and C4 vertebrates; Eric spent several months on a ventilator with a halo screwed to his head to support his neck fighting for his life. Upon being released from the hospital Eric spent the next six months in rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado learning to cope with his new circumstances. Doctors recommended an assisted living center after leaving the hospital, but with the support of his family he made the transition from rehabilitation to his mother’s and stepfather’s home. Thanks to the hard work of his stepfather many changes and modifications were made to the home so that Eric could navigate throughout the structure. With the support of Disability Network, a self-determination living arrangement (SDLA) was developed. Having a SDLA permitted Eric to hire his own staff and set goals and dreams using the person centered plan process, allowing Eric to live independently in his own environment. Eric's portfolio resonates with a vast variety of activities from public speaking to managing his graphic design company. His list of charitable works involve everything from Toys for Tots, Relay for Life, Coats For Kids, Food Bank Of Eastern Michigan, American Heart Association, president for the Flint Film Festival, co-founder of Wheels 4 Wheels, local leader for Michigan Partners for Freedom and an ambassador for Danny’s Miracle Angel Network (D-Man). Eric does not view his life as a burden but it’s an opportunity to help other individuals with disabilities. Some of the most rewarding moments of his life include testifying at both House and Senate hearings at the local, state, and national level, for the advancement of care and rights for people with disabilities. He believes in providing both financial means and access to affordable health care. These things will allo

On Ask Win today (Monday, March 9, 2018), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Emily Prokop. Emily is a puzzle editor by day, which suits her well, since she has always loved trivia, fun facts and useless knowledge. In 2015, she and her friend James decided to use their penchant for collecting trivia by hosting the Classy Little Podcast. When that show ended a year later, the trivia started building up in her brain again, not to mention countless time spent falling down Wikipedia rabbit holes. Tim is the host of “The Timo Show” pod cast where he interviews guests about their lives and how they overcame their hardships. Tim is a small business owner. Tim’s parents met as pen pals. In elementary school Tim was unable to make friends and spent most of his days alone. One of his teachers even purchased a small ball for him so that he would have something to play with at recess. Not only did Tim not have any friends but he was constantly made fun of. They made fun of his bright red hair, his homemade clothes and his “weirdness” In middle school Tim was bullied. Kids would seek him out to make fun and threaten him daily. Tim resorted to taking different routes around the school to avoid the torment. Once he even took a small pocket knife to school to stab the next kid that picked on him. Nobody made fun of him that day. One day a teacher approached Tim while he was eating lunch alone like he always did. The teacher invited him to join the theater. There Tim found his talents and friends. Tim’s dad lost his dream job working in television and radio as soon the family was on a downward fall. Tim’s parents struggled to make ends meet and family life became worse. His parents fought and his dad turned his anger onto Tim. Tim’s new found friends and positive outlook angered his dad who was failing. His father tried to control him, not allowing him to go anywhere and preventing his from seeing his friends. He wasn’t even allowed to talk to them on the phone. He felt like hw lived in a prison. The fights between his dad and himself began to increase in intensity. Tim’s parents divorced and Tim and his sister moved in with his mother. His father had checked himself into a hospital for a mental breakdown. Before his senior year in high school Tim’s mother and sister moved to California and Tim moved in with his dad. Tim discovered that his dad had a mental illness that was taking over his life. In 1989 Tim received a phone call informing him that his mother had passed away. Soon he was taking car of his sister and father. In 1992 Tim met his now wife, then three months later his dad was diagnosed with cancer. He died two months later. Tim was 24. Tim finally went to school and received a degree in business management. He married his wife, they had three children and they worked and did the best they could to make life work. They struggled in many ways, financially and emotionally. With no guidance they did their best and forged ahead. Tim felt a lot of anger
