Rebbe Nachman emphasized the importance of constantly seeking divine guidance in all areas of life, from personal decisions to religious practices, and not relying solely on rabbinic advice, which may lack the depth needed for individual spiritual struggles. This includes asking for "truth according to God" (Emet LaAmito), especially in complex matters where external opinions may fall short. The act of praying sincerely for good counsel activates God's mercy and protects a person from going astray, even when mistakes occur. Rebbe Nachman’s teachings, especially as presented in Sichot HaRan, provide a direct path to accessing this guidance. Reb Noson’s work in printing and distributing Breslov literature reflects the urgency and value of spreading these teachings, often requiring courage and ingenuity under difficult circumstances.
