How is digitization affecting mental health and therapy?

Chris Medina got famous for his song “what are words” and the tragic story of his ex. fiance Juliana Ramos that got seriously injured in a car accident. Chris stood by her and got famous for his words “Cause what kind of guy would I be, If I was to leave when you need me most”. Sadly, life is not always like a Disney movie and Juliana and Chris agreed to part ways. The energy it took to dear to do this had hidden consequences on Chris’s mental health and he met shocking feedback form “haters”. He started his new life in Norway and now lives there with the mother of their beautiful daughter Mila.

How do we communicate across generations to turn the mental health crisis?

The gap between generations seems to increase further and further. Like Tanyette says during this unique podcast episode, “we are now dealing with the first generation that grew up with devices from day one”. Their parents is the generation that saw the birth of devices and their grandparents are the generation that lived in the world without them. How do we act as a parent when we see the massive rise in mental health challenges and illness among youth today? Not just that, but the same seems to have been accelerated by the social media influx in our lives. If we remove the option of closing down Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or denying our children to use them, what are we left with, in terms of good options?

Tanyette has worked for Google with tech. surrounding her, and she is sharing how she managed to tackle her sons mental health challenges. Fatmir has also felt the challenge of communicating across generations and his wife is also a professional within the mental health field, but challenges still came. 

In this episode you can hear how they tackled their generational gap, and what they feel could be dealt with by the government through education, and what should be up to the parents.
