Whenever David asks about Goliath’s defiance, his brother accuses him of being a conceited and wicked person. He questions David’s motives, not knowing why David is at the battlefield, and is angry that David is even there in the first place. Just like David, when we try to face our giants, there will be what can be called “noise in the system.” There will be naysayers. There will be doubters. There will even be voices within ourselves that tell us we are not strong enough. Like David, we have to tune out this noise and focus on the task at hand, while trusting in the Lord’s presence.
