The heiress is getting suspicious of the fae. After all, she did hear that he was dangerous--and whatever magic he has going on requires further study. She and the scientist set out to find some answers in the tomes she's brought. The fae opens up. The scientist gets upset. The heiress investigates. And two royal figures reflect on their traditions.

A young queer writer named Mae decides to spend some time alone at a B&B to escape her writer’s block, and finds herself increasingly ensnared in the otherworldly house. Every little thing is a curiosity, but are the unusual things about the house simply unusual, or are they more?
In each chapter, Mae explores another facet of the house, writing poems and momentary essays in an attempt to find purpose.

Treating the fae has been more of a hassle than the scientist realized it might be. But hopefully, with some help from the heiress on the way, things might be a little easier... if they can stand each other long enough for her to get there. The fae takes a break. The scientist searches. And while the heiress takes a trip through the jungle, two royal figures discuss.
Trigger warnings: Loud sounds, discussions of ableism, getting trapped.

The jungles of Theride are a deep and mysterious place, with only a few signs of civilization dotting its lush wilderness. In Duke Farid's domain, a chance encounter may very well change the course of history. A fae runs away from his kind. A scientist helps a lone traveler. And an heiress rebuffs another in a long line of suitors.
