This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit astralflight.substack.com

A quick overview of how the Chinese government is so heavily enmeshed in the production of fentanyl and the operations of Mexican cartels that we can safely refer to China as a narco-state.

Two things I forgot to mention: according to Ben Westhoff, fentanyl is not a demand driven product, rather it is an adulterant to make other drugs more potent. Second…

  • Inquisition Supplement: Venezuela
This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit astralflight.substack.com

I argue the case that Venezuela is in fact a narco-state, dispel some of the claims the administration is making, and explain why they’re making these claims. I also discuss that while it is in our interest to deal with Venezuela in some way, regime change or invasion probably aren’t the best solutions, if they’re solutions at all. Also, I argue what I believe our true motivations are.

CORRECTION: San Juan De Unare is NOT near the Colombian border, it’s east of Caracas, and VERY far away from the stronghold of the drug paramilitary groups who produce the cocaine.

Also, Machados economic advisors is a Venezuelan woman, not a man.

  • Evil Dead

Remus of GamerGate Part 1 and Part 2 returns to discuss horror. This year we watched the horror classics Evil Dead 1 & 2 (I rewatched Army of Darkness, but we never really got to it) and Cabin In The Woods, which we spoil so beware. We also discuss Halloween, Blair Witch, and several other films. You can follow along if you’ve never seen Evil Dead, however you must go out and watch the first 2, it was one of the most satisfying movie watching experiences either of us have had in a long time. Cabin In The Woods is just the icing on the cake.

  • The Mythology of Artificial Intelligence

A discussion and reading of an essay on the mythological implications of Artificial Intelligence as the new monster of the digital age.

Quick correction: the Balrogs went to war alongside Morgoth in the past, not Sauron. They were never his ally or under his control, which upholds the point I was making.

The essay I read, The Digital Horizon

The Wired article on the philosophical origins of Peter Thiels thought.
