God is enthroned in heaven and in control of everything that happens (v.19). Sometimes it may not look like it. If you’re walking by sight, you may wonder if there is a God, does He care?. The psalmist tells us, “Don’t walk by sight; walk by faith.”

God has an army (v.20). The angels act at His command. If we read and study the Word of God and obey it, everything in the universe will work with us. If we don’t obey the Word of God, everything will work against us—just as it did against Jonah, who was running in the wrong direction with the wrong motives, and wrong purpose. God finally brought him to a place of obedience.

Don’t be like Jonah. Have faith that God is in control and working on you in every situation.

No matter how difficult your day or how discouraging the news might be, lean on the wonderful assurance that God is on His throne (v.19). He is ruling, and His servants are at work accomplishing His Word. Obey God’s Word today and keep walking by faith.
