Parker’s Wish Come True

 Trent and Patrick are joined in studio by one of Roby Electric’s newest team members, Andrew Wright.  Andrew is a home security expert and shares tips on how homeowners can protect their homes this summer while on vacation and year round.  Lauren Harnett with Make-A-Wish® Central & Western NC returns to kick off our “10 Weeks of Wishes” campaign in honor of our 10th annual Pitchin’ for Wishes Cornhole Tourney coming up this September.  This Sunday’s story is all about the very first wish that inspired the founding of the organization.

On this Sunday’s episode of “At Home with Roby”, Trent and Patrick are joined by “Pregnant #1” and “Pregnant #2” to talk about all things Pitchin’ for Wishes and Make-A-Wish®!  “Pregnant #1” is Lauren Harnett, Chief Development Officer for Make-A-Wish® Central & Western North Carolina.  She’ll be talking about the MAW mission, their wish goals for 2017, and some of her favorite wish stories of all time.  “Pregnant #2” is Christian McCall, Director of Marketing & PR for the Roby Family of Companies.  She’ll be jumping in to share details about Andrew Roby and Harris Teeter’s 10th annual Pitchin’ for Wishes Cornhole Tourney coming up on Saturday, September 16th at Freedom Park to raise funds for the foundation.  Tune in to learn more about how you can “pitch in” and support this wonderful cause!

Pitchin’ for Wishes Cornhole Tourney

On this Sunday’s episode of “At Home with Roby”, Trent and Patrick are joined by Dan Morrill from the Historic Landmarks Commission and Bryan Butler from Coldwell Banker Commercial MECA to talk about the upcoming Camp Greene Centennial Celebration that will honor all men and women who served during WWI.  The weekend celebration starts on Saturday, July 15th with a family friendly festival at the Dowd House.  That evening, the celebration continues with a gala at Goodwill Industries of Southern Piedmont on Wilkinson Boulevard.  The weekend concludes with a Sunday brunch with guest speakers who will share the overall vision for the area and future of the Dowd House.  Tune in to learn more.

On this Sunday’s episode of “At Home with Roby”, Trent and Patrick are joined by fellow home builder, Clark Stewart of Eastwood Homes.  Clark’s father, “Big Joe”, founded the company in 1977 in Gaston County.  Today, they are a Charlotte staple and can also be found in Raleigh and the Triad, Charleston, Greenville and Columbia, SC and Richmond, VA.  Tune in to learn more about the history of the business, how Clark got started in the company during his infancy, and tidbits from Clark and Trent’s hunting adventures.

Carl Howard, COO of Autobell Car Wash, joins Trent and Patrick to talk about his family’s business and their growth over the years.  Carl’s grandfather opened the first Autobell location here in Charlotte back in 1969.  At the time, they were an exterior only car wash and also pumped gas for their customers.  The cost for a wash was just a $1.50!  Today, they have 77 full service car washes in 5 states and plans to continue growing.  Tune in to meet Carl (who started working for the company by wiping down cars at age 12) to learn more.

Make-A-Wish® Central & Western NC

 DIY Network’s Kayleen McCabe returns to the show to talk about work force development and career options within the trades.  Kayleen visits local high schools throughout the year to encourage students to think outside the “college box” and explore options within the trades.  She will talk to over 150,000 students this year alone!  In addition, she’s a self-proclaimed Skills USA stalker, and attends skills competitions throughout the United States when she’s able.  According to Kayleen, these competitions are the Olympics of power tools!  She’ll be at the national competition in Louisville, KY in just a few months and plans to attend the world competition in Abu Dhabi this fall (along with construction geeks just like her from 67 different countries!).  We hope to have her back on the show after her trip to hear all about it.  Tune in to “meet” Kayleen and learn more!

On this Sunday’s episode of “At Home with Roby”, Trent and Patrick celebrate Mother’s Day with Jeanine DeVaney of Charlotte In-Vironments.  Jeanine is an Architectural Designer, but first and foremost, she’s a wife and a mother.  This comes in handy when working with her clients.  Being a wife and mom herself, Jeanine can translate a woman’s needs / wants into a floor plan that works for her and the entire family.  She can then switch gears to talk “bricks and sticks”, budgets and timelines with the husband.  And while the husband may be more concerned with where the family TV will hang, mom wants space for indoor and outdoor cooking, formal and informal entertaining, holidays, homework, kid zones, teen zones, sports equipment, and the list goes on and on.  Tune in to learn how Jeanine works her magic to make it all happen!
