The Door to Heaven Won’t Stay Open Forever, Episode 8
Welcome to At the Sycamore Tree Podcast with Jeff Hughes — a place dedicated to helping you see Jesus more clearly.
In this episode of At the Sycamore Tree, we continue our series on the I AM statements of Jesus, focusing on one of the most urgent truths in all of Scripture — Jesus said "I am the door," and that door will not stay open forever.
We dive into John 9, where Jesus heals a man who had been blind from birth, bringing him from complete darkness into light — both physically and spiritually. We contrast his open, humble heart with the Pharisees, who witnessed the same miracle and still refused to believe. They weren't just blind to the man's healing. They were spiritually blind, bound by religion and pride.
But here's the warning. In Matthew 25, Jesus tells the parable of the ten bridesmaids, and five of them got locked out. The bridegroom came, the door shut and no amount of knocking could open it again.
So the question is: will you walk through the door while it’s still open?
❕Today’s Takeaway:
Jesus is the only door to salvation—and there is an urgency to respond.
