In this episode I take a little bit of a different approach. Introducing the quick fire five. I take 5 questions from either Instagram, Facebook or from clients themselves and quickly gloss over them to give you the theoretical and oractical information you need. Won't be quite as in-depth as some others but we can get into those in the near future. For now, it will be the actionable pieces that you can take from it and use straight away.
Time Stamps for Questions:
#1 = 1:25 - What is creatine for, best way to use it, do I have to load it and how should it be taken?
#2 = 4.58 - Why gym work doesn't always correlate to an increase in performance. Is gym work really the limiter for your performance or is it your skill level? Are you looking at your performance as a whole or just tunnel vision towards the gym work because it seems like it's what you need?
#3 = 15.16 - Off-Season Running. What should I be doing during the off-season with regards to running? What should my priorities be? How do I put together a maximal speed session?
#4 = 21.45 = Hamstring injury prevention. Hamstring injuries are a curse on sports athletes as they can be a nightmare to deal with. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Are you exposing yourself to enough high speed running and correct strengthening exercises to make sure you don't fall foul of a niggly hamstring when pre-season rolls around?
#5 = 26.42 - Preventing or reducing the severity of DOMS. Rather than just looking inwardly, have you looked at your situation as a whole. Is training load, recovery, environmental/social & lifestyle stressors accounted for or are you looking for the quick fix? Have to consider everything.
