A quick look at the AAC shined some light on the top teams and some of the new head coaches, with a team that may make us a lot of money this season.

  • The Bettor's Box MLB Betting Podcast July 29, 2019
Host Adam Burke was back to kick off a new work week with the July 29 edition of The Bettor’s Box. Usually we start with a Monday Mailbag segment, but with no questions for this week, he went right on into the Beyond the Box Score segment to look at Dodgers vs. Nationals, Yankees vs. Red Sox, Giants vs. Padres, and Brewers vs. Cubs. He touched on some Trade Deadline stuff and then gave an update on batting stats vs. pitch types to find some good information for you to use in your daily handicapping.
Today’s top pick actually preceded the Down the Lines segment because it was relative to some of those stats. A recap of the betting odds from Friday through today gave way to a preview of the week ahead, as we really have some good series on the docket this week. Braves vs. Nationals, Astros vs. Indians, Twins vs. Marlins, Rays vs. Red Sox, and Cubs vs. Cardinals were under the spotlight to wrap up the show.

Host Adam Burke was joined by Christian Pina of the Sports Gambling Podcast to take a detailed look at UFC 240, which is on ESPN+ this week. The pay-per-view portion of the show is highlighted by big favorites, like Max Holloway over Frankie Edgar and Cyborg over Felicia Spencer. How do you approach big favorites in spotlight fights? That was a big talking point for the guys.
A couple of Canadian underdogs round out the main card in Oliver Aubin-Mercier and Marc-Andre Barriault. Are they worth betting? There is a full set of prelim card matches as well and that’s where Christian found most of his favorite picks for this weekend. This was a good show with a lot of good analysis on a card that could turn out to be a dud.

Host Adam Burke joined up with regular guest and sharp handicapper Ralph Michaels on the July 23 edition of BangTheBook Radio to discuss some college football season win totals and conference previews. The guys focused specifically on the Pac-12, Big 12, and Mountain West conferences. The Pac-12 looks competitive, but is there an elite team? The Big 12 looks like Oklahoma’s to lose once again – do they have challengers?
Our first Group of Five conference was the Mountain West, which is clearly down from last year. Boise State is a clear favorite, but with a new quarterback. The top contenders have fallen back a few notches. Because of that, Ralph is seeing some crazy upset potential in the conference this season with a couple of long shots to consider from a futures standpoint.
