The coolest, most handsome, and in every conceivable aspect the best host of the show is flying solo today. We open the show Batman fan-fiction. The purge is an annual event in the US, and the last five years it's gone off flawlessly. This year, however, something happened in Gotham. A vigilante had kept the peace...

Next, in the quickest Quick 'n' Dirty to date Brandon discussions two things he has seen lately which look absolutely awful. One is one he had such high hopes for, and the other is something which seemed to be destined to fail from the start.

Finally, Brandon discusses his experience with the new Read Dead Redemption game. The review is spoiler free but spoilers - the game is fantastic.

Show agenda: Spooky Fan-fictions, Spooky Once Upon a Tangent, Spooky Top 3 fictions that scared us during our lives

This week Attack on Fiction has got significantly more spooky, in our Halloween special. Yes, it's a little late, and that's why it's so damn spooky.

First we read two spooky fan-fictions - one about Alice in Wonderland, and the other about some side characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The concept of Alice in Wonderland is fairly creepy by itself, but a look at what Alice would be like in the "real world" is very scary. Avatar, normally a light hearted romp around the country-side, has one very, very scary side character who is used to their full potential here.

Next, we revisit the Harry Potter universe for another Once Upon a Tangent. Keeping to the theme of the episode we each hid our agendas (spooky, right?) and examined what happens when Luna, Hermione, and Draco meet in a Hogwarts corridor.

Finally the boys look to answer (what Brandon made) a very convoluted Top 3 of the spookiest movies (or tv shows, video games, etc.) we have experienced in our lives. As none of us are huge horror fans this list is pretty non-spooky, but hey, we tried!

Zombie Fan Fiction, Rando-man and Top 3 Movie Musicals.

 

The AOF Crew get their Halloween on and read a creepy but interesting take on the Zombie game franchise, Left 4 Dead.

 

Next, the boys revisit a good old faithful segment, 'Rando-man'; where we create a plethora of hero's villains and interesting characters all based on a random noun generator.

 

Finally, the lads get their sing on, as they bring a top 3 list of their favourite Movie-Musicals. Did we leave out some of your favourites? Get in touch and let us know! The end of this segment literally left the crew singing...it's exactly as bad as it sounds.

Show agenda: Two short Fan Fictions, Spoiler-free Horizon: Zero Dawn review

This week is a very unusual episode for Attack On Fiction as we only have one host on air. With Seb, Tom, and Ben (...) busy with other things Brandon has had to step up and deliver the best episode you've ever heard.

Ok he tried his hardest.

We open the show with two short stories from the WritingPrompts community - one from the Sherlock Holmes universe and the other from Star Wars. Good stories, enough said.

To then close the shortest episode we have ever produced Brandon gives a quick review of Horizon Zero Dawn, the first game he played on his new PlayStation 4. After providing a quick overview of the game he goes over some pros and cons, before giving it a final rating and recommendation.

That's it, the whole show! Hopefully you all enjoy this change of pace and we promise to have the crew back together again next week!

Zombie prompt Fan Fic, Rando-man, Build a Fan Fic & Once upon a Tangent.

 

The boys start things off with a new twist on a Zombie Apocalypse story prompt for this week's fan fiction.

The Rando-man segment makes it's triumphant return and it literally reduces one of the hosts to tears... tune in to find out which randomly generated superhero could have such a devistating power!

The boys wrap up part 4 of the Build-a-fan-fic short story segment; this week we round out the challenge with the final portion of story-prep: Plots.

Finally, we round out the episode with another classic edition of Once upon a Tangent. This time the adlibed story madness comes straight out of one of the fighting pits in the Game of Thrones world of Westeros.

Show agenda: Batman Fan Fiction, Build a Fan Fic II - Items, Attack on Facts - Warhammer 40k

A rare short story taken from fanfiction.net opens the show this week, as we once again dive into the Batman universe. Many beloved characters appear in a tale of Batman trying to discover the Joker's real name. Some top notch voice acting and a fantastic ending to the story are coming your way.

Next, continuing the streak of Build a Fan Fic preparing we discuss the items we would like to see appear in our stories. Some are incredibly specific, some are very broad, and all could make fantastic candidates to the short stories we are writing.

Finally, Tom ends the show with a difficult 4-piece Attack on Facts diving into the Warhammer 40k universe. Seb and Brandon, professional as ever, do not try and derail the segment as we try to decipherwhere Tom being sneaky with his fact.

Tarzan Fan Fiction, 'Build a Fan Fic' and 'Attack on Facts!'.

 

What if Tarzan wasn't the only human to be raised by animals in this classic story? What if there was another child, who was then raised by the enemy of Tarzan and the Gorillas, Sabor the Leopard? Tune in to find out how the story would have changed.

 

As a continuation from last week, the boys have embarked on another 'Build a fan fic' challenge, only this year they are tasked with coming up with a short story. This week they continue to build the fan fic criteria, with 'Locations' for the story.

 

Finally, we end the show with another installment of the new segment 'Attack on Facts'. This week, Seb is bringing several facts about the Dragon Ball universe to challenge Brandon and Tom. Do you think you will be able to guess the true facts? Stay tuned to find out!

Show agenda: The Incredibles x Avengers crossover fan fiction, Build a Fan Fic II - Characters, Attack on Facts - Halo Universe

Today we open the show with a familiar crossover universe, re-visit a fan favourite in the middle, and end with something brand new. First, Tom provides us with a cool take on the popular Incredibles/Avengers crossover. A fantastic idea with a few execution issues, it was still a blast to read.

Back by popular demand we are running a second round of Build a Fan Fic, where the AoF boys bring a new element to a pool of fan fic ideas, with the eventual goal being to write a fan fiction with the ideas we have collectively brainstormed. Week one is characters, and the vast majority of the ones discussed are well known by all Attack on Fiction fans.

Finally, we are trialling a new segment called Attack on Facts. The premise is very similar to "Two Truths and a Lie", where one host brings three "facts" from a fictional universe they know well and challenge the other two to pick the fake. Brandon runs this weeks session, with a deep dive into the Halo games and some of the early novels.

Next, the AOF crew are dedicating some time to the awesome Fan Fiction authors that have written back to the show after having their work featured on the show. We show some love to the authors who have given us a lot of entertainment since the shows inception, in our first AOF mailbag segment.

 

Finally, we wrap up the show with another classic installment of Once Upon a Tangent. This week, the boys put their on-the-spot story telling abilities to the test as they tackle their first cross-over, between the Eragon and How to Train your Dragon universes. How did it turn out? This week we open the show with a situation we are sure has come up a couple times in Hogwarts history - Professor Snape needs to teach Sex Ed. Being unnecessarily cruel towards his students (and their House Points) Snape goes over the various fears and concerns your average teenage witch or wizard needs to face.

Once again (because we are loving this segment) we are diving into another Once Upon a Tangent. This time each of the boys on the AOF crew have a secret objective they are attempting to achieve as Obi Wan, Anikan, and Yoda prepare to set off on a mission. As expected things quickly go off track as the group finds themselves in all sorts of trouble.

Finally, the sad reality of our world is that often times the hype for a new release on any medium is far greater than the final product. Following along this theme, we look at video games which fell short of our expectations come release day.
